Where can I get a set of four Faklen Azenis for a decent price? Will they fit on the MSP rims?

$99 each at Discount Tire Direct

DTD

You can probably work with a local store to get them mounted and balanced for that price.

Peace...(hippy)

If you can get them, you won't be sorry...wow...very sticky.

DON'T get them, however, unless you don't mind getting 15-18K miles out of a set of tires. All that grip comes at a price. :)

Edit: Azenis SPORT is what you're really looking for....

Unless I'm mistaken, they don't have a MSP match in size yet - I had them on another car and they are PHENOMENAL for the price.

Scapamouche tried the 225/45x17s on his MSP and reported minor rubbing on the rear inside edges. He reported they lasted for about 50 autox runs. He replaced them with 205/40x17 Kumho Victoracers, which are race rubber, not street tire class.

t3ase-

if you're planning on autoXing them and you're not staying in stock class (if you are, get race rubber...the difference is phenomenal), then why not go to a 16x7" wheel? i think the 215/45/16 Azenis sport will work perfectly for you, along with the benefits of a much lighter, lower interia wheel.

I'm not looking to autox for a while. I just need new tires and I've everywhere I read, that tire is mentioned and it seems it's a gift from god for drivers everywhere. What about wet traction with those?

If you are looking for a street tire that is all about grip, and not so much about tread life then consider any of these that are being used by SCCA ST* class autocrossers:

Yokohama AVS Sport
Kumho Ecsta MX
BFGoodrich KD

There are a lot of tires available in 215/45/17 size.

I installed the 225/45/17 Azenis Sport on the stock MSP wheels but had to trim the rear splash shield where the tire was rubbing the plastic shield. Not a big deal. I have ran 2 Auto-crosses since on them and really noticed the difference.
Those tire are really sticky and they make the car look better too.
I have not driven them in rain yet and will swap the stock tires back once the winter season starts.

Instead of the Azenis, get the Falken FK-451. Some german mag did a tire test with every high-end tire out there and the FK's finished second behind the Dunlop Sport 9000 (which are a $100 more). They handle great in the dry and the wet, which is more realistic to everyday driving!!

And just think that the MP3's came with Dunlop SP9000's stock :D
However I only have 14,000 miles on mine and I'm already looking for new tires :(
