I just got done putting the Sway Bar in. Took it for a drive, and, holy hell!!

Slot car = understatement!! JEBUS I am impressed. I would recommend the AWR 21.5mm Rear Sway bar to anyone.

Here are some pics. Does everything look right? The endlinks look to be too close to the control arm (think thats what it is).

Interesting, are those o-rings on the hiem joints? The bar is great, if you think that's nice where it is, tighten it up more-put the slider between the links.

If you move the large metal block towards the end of the bar, is there anything else that it would hit? Just because, it would move it away from the problem??

Ya those are O-rings. It's supposed to be AWR's answer to the joints going past their "turning point" so it doesn't clunk or tear the joints up.

It's pretty light. you could move it back, but that softens the bar. There is plenty of clearance with the bar.

Funky, interesting, the wierd thing is the rear ones don't really twist, the front ones were the real problem, and the spacers have been changed. I've had the rear on mine for over 20K and no problems at all.

My Racing beat setup...the bar is around 10-15lbs already..and the endlinks themselves w/ all the hardware are about 7-9lbs.

Is it worth the extra weight. I have the TEIN-SS and it's really mindblowing in the turns. Do you think it would make a diff with the stuff I have?

It should eliminate understeer. Also I find the "corner dive" to be less. So it's pretty much taken a load off the front wheels. Don't get the racing beat...the bushings from mazda wear out too fast. Go all AWR. That sway bar and the Tein SS you have will be a formidable setup.

Funky:

I am considering installing sway bars on my car. Can you please tell me what "AWR" is? Is that an expensive mod? And also, is the install time-consuming?

(hear ya)

AWR is a company, Anthony Woodford Racing.

For the Rear Sway bar package it was like, $220 shipped. It is worth every cent.

The install took about 2 hours, I took my time, and it was 12:30 at night when I started.

AWR is a Company that makes kick ass protege parts, the sway bar is $215 plus shipping

AWR= Anthony Woodford Racing. Just the name of the company that builds some of the best mods for the proteges. The install fo the rear bar is very simple and straightforward. If you can get the endlinks loose, it's an hour or less install.

Also, your car already has front and rear bars. The rear one is the only one you really need to upgrade. Front endlinks are a worthwhile upgrade too.

ya, just ordered the upgrade kit for my endlinks...started to make a bunch of noise and Tony told me they had a fix for it......can't wait...the bar is the balls!!!!!!!!

I think the front endlinks were worth it. They make the front bar much more effective. Much easier to install and better than upgrading the front sway bar.
