I just bought an awr rear motor mount from protege garage. Got it in the mail today but there we're no installation instructions in the box. I don't know if they just forgot to put them in the box or what, but they are not there. I can't find a how-to for this mod. Can anyone help me?

Ha ha ha! Thanks. I can definitely get all cave manish sometimes. This is a mod I've never done, and I'm by no means a mechanic. Just an enthusiast. Yeah I'm pretty sure I got it figured out, and I did end up finding some install instructions. My main question was do I have to support the motor while installing. Protege Garage said no and I found a street unit install how to that shows the same.

Yeah I never thought the motor would fall out. I know on some cars, the regular mazda3 included, you have to support the motor with a jack and some wood blocks or what not. My concern is being able to get this part in. Sounds like it should be real easy. I'll probably do it today.

How did the install go? Where did you get the instructions. I am replacing mine today.

It was very easy. I didn't have any problem getting the old mount out or putting the old mount in. This was definitely one of the easiest mods I've ever done. Plus it's a great mod. It makes the car feel more solid. Feels like it puts more torque to the ground. Not to mention shifting is much tighter. I found some instructions for a "street unit" rear mount install. I just followed those. They we're either on this site or on the mazda3/axela forum. I'll check and let you know.

awr mount

I just installed the awr mount the other day and I'm not really digging the vibrations from 500 to 1500 rpm.. the whole interior shakes..like for example when im backing into a parking space anything loose in the cup holders or site pockets rattle and it kinda bothers me..Kinda thinking about changing back to the stock mount. what do you guys think?

WHat mount did you get..70 or 88?

thanks for the link. I did decide to approach the install my own way though. It wasnt the easiest mod I did. It was actually the hardest one besides the cams. Yes the hardest part was getting the bottom 10mm bolt from the bottom of the wire harness. Besides that the same bolt prevents you from removing the mount. After about half an hour trying to get that 10mm bolt out I knew I wasnt going to put it back on. In the end I trashed the plastic wire harness. And I had to pry the bolt off because its in the way. You won't be able to take off the 17mm bolt with it there also you won't be able to take off the old mount either. Make me wonder how the hell they got it on I the first place. All in all in took two hours to complete the install and now my car rumbles like crazy between 1000 and 1500rpms. Maybe cuz I got the 95durometer mount.
