AWR Mount for DD?

Add a roll cage and strip out the interior. No squeaks but you can hear everything else the car is doing.

Well I've had from 70 mount installed for 2 days now. There is definitely more vibration and noise at idle, but once you're up to speed there is next to no difference from the stock mount. You don't feel the engine moving as much which I think helps out working the awful feeling clutch pedal, kinda hard to explain. for the 70-80 bucks, it's worth it.

I agree with the above. I've had mine on since yesterday, and now, at idle and revving from idle, it sounds like a freaking BEAST inside combined with my exhaust. Definitely not much more noise or vibration when you're cruising, so i'm hapy about that. I don't notice _quite_ as much of a difference upshifting, however I have an ACT clutch kit in and that did a HUGE amount towards my shift feel already.... That being said, where this makes the biggest difference for me is downshifts. When I downshift hard it's just solid. no more engine bounce... It's fantastic.

To sum up: The whole engine feels a bit more responsive and tight. Upshifts definitely feel nicer to engage when i shift hard from say 5500+ rpm. Downshifts feel excellent all the time. Noise at idle is louder and vibration more present, but sounds great and doens't add too much noise at cruising speeds.

Definitely a great upgrade for $80. I can't comment on how much noise would be present in the cabin coming from stock as my exhaust and intake probably make a bigger difference to internal noise, but I woudl say if you're on this forum, you're probably a bit of a 'driver' anyway so most people looking to mod probably wont mind so much.

If I remember correctly I think I got mine directly from AWR, on their website. I think it was the cheapest after tax and shipping to my zip code.

Do u need to support the engine with a jack or something during install?

Nope. Just apply the parking brake and put the car in neutral. This will allow you to rotate the engine slightly to install the mount. The engine will not fall or move downwards, in fact I actually backed the car out of the garage without the lower mount (not at all recommended) (thumb)

The engine will shift a little bit when you take the stock mount out. when you put the new mount in, attach it to the engine first then connect it to the car 2nd. It was cake using a lift (breakn)

The vibrations would be noticeable in the car. I am ok myself with some vibrations so I did not find it uncomfortable at all, it was just noticeable.

Derrick, I sold the MS3 and I have a lot more money for the MZ2(evil). Sooo, you guys will have a few orders pretty soon from me. And some will be double orders since we have 2 Mazda2 s now. Any plans on a RMM from you guys in the future? I like the RMM you guys came out with for the MS3, you should make one like this for the MZ2.

Here's a video of the vibrations with the 70 durometer AWR mount (~1000-1800 rpm). Crappy quality video, but you can still hear the rattling and see the mirror moving (it was shaking A LOT).

I filled my stock mount over the past weekend, and have put a couple hundred miles on it, so I thought I would report.

First off, I didn't want ultra stiff. I wanted something less floppy than stock - so I filled it with silicone. I was also hoping for something to dry a little faster than polyurethane since I went cheap and didn't buy another mount to fill.

The mount takes about 5 minutes to remove, and most of that time is crawling under the car, and getting the right size socket (14mm) and which of my impacts would fit. Dead easy.

It took a few more minutes to push back in, and would have been easier if I used something other than my left arm to muscle on the motor while trying to sneak the bolt in with my right hand. Still not difficult. I did everything without lifting the car up.

Result: the engine is far less floppy, and the clutch is MUCH improved. No additional vibrations felt in the cabin. Would recommend to anybody.

Wow ~ that's crazy -- mine's not that rough at all. I feel a bit more vibration at startup, but nothing quite so rattle -y.
