Guys, we have a MS6 here that has a very distinctive (audiable and sensible) clunk on hard acceleration from low rpm (roling start, straight) too. When the e-brake is pulled up one click the clunk does not appear, so I guess it has to do with power transition to the rear.

Good guess. Sounds like you've got it right.
 
I'm guessing the left inner CV joint is broken inside the boot. The axle likely will NOT make noise unless there is a significant difference in left/right wheel speed. If you jack up the left rear tire (only) with the car in gear, grab the left rear wheel and rotate it. If the CV is popped, you will hear and feel it.

i've been given the OK to go pick it up and continue driving it, the service manager has to submit the warranty claim though, and hes away till wensday, then they'll get the parts and call me back in to finish the job
 
its probably because the stock rear diff mounts let the differential twist which during a hard launch can snap the cv joint.
