Just thought I would share this chart I found on MSN Autos, on the avg car insurance premiums on vehicles.

http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/marketplace/auto-insurance/insurance-premiums-allcars.aspx

I am actually not surprised on where the speed3 falls in the price range. Do you guys think the price is in relation to the age group that purchases this car rather than the safety or performance level the car is in, or visa versa?

I'm still in the sub- "25 years of age" category so I pay well more than the ~$1300 premium. So I will be glad to even get to that level of payments.

I'm 32 and pay $660 a year for my insurance - full coverage on my Speed3. I expected the WRX to be up there, too, and it was. Many of these are still getting into accidents because of younger and careless taking them beyong their driving abilities can handle (i.e. streetracing). I know when I owned the WRX for six years, insurance went up every year due to the car - as a whole - getting into accidents. At least that's how Stae Farm explained it in their letters to me.

You might get ***** for this thread. Although this is more informative than most, I think the general consensus is that people are sick of auto insurance posts because there are too many variables that come into play.

Full ins..everything 98 a month
33yrs old
2 other cars insured with same company
New York....the motherland of wallet emptying ****

$260 every six months for full coverage. Helps to be older, no tickets or accidents. Three cars and house with State Farm = multi discounts.

$205.12 a month through Nationwide. 18 years old no tickets or claims. It was $128 a month but the adjuster or something didn't accept the policy and it changed to $205 after about 3 months?? Idk but my dad is making up the difference.

Sounds like the $128 was the bait and after hooking you, it went up.

$125 a month via Allstate in NJ, 300.000/1.000.000 limits with $500 deductible or something like that.
25yo, no accidents/tickets.

68 per month full coverage 500 duductable. I have 2 other cars on the policy and 1 accident that will be dismissed this november. > November 49per month. State Farm. Also i have had 3 tickets which have never affected my insurance.

cali, only car, $85 month turning 24 in september, full coverage

now thats pretty damn good

25 y.o just got my insurance reduction for that fine old age.

I'm paying $138 a month ($1656 annual), 1 car on my account, but I am paying renters insurance with them as well.

$175/mo, 24 years old, 1 incident on record, $500 or $1000 deductible, Columbia, MD.

Advice: Don't wait until 22 to get a license :) I waited a long time because I had no need for a car nor the money, but I took a hit on insurance due to lack of driving history.

38 years old, clean record, Erie Insurance, $600 a year (about $50 a month.) Still adds up to more than my other 3 vehicles combined!

22 years old, driving since 17... no violations of any kind, 1 accident found not at fault. My insurance on my '09 MS3 (only car on policy) is $113 a month ($1K deductible). My insurance last year on my '08 Mazda 3 was $86 a month. And the year before that my 1992 civic was $110 a month for JUST liability (no ABS, 1 airbag, etc). This is through Ameriprise (american express). I also have renters insurance through them, though it's next to nothing a month.

WOW! That's a car payment!

I'm at $115 with progressive

Most people seem to have pretty low insurance on this thing...

That is weird... the regular tribute is almost at the bottom of the list! $913 yr

Going green isn't helping the world/stopping global warming. It's making people rich. That's it

That's another topic...
