Avarela86's MP3

ha ha yeah honda forums are a bit different compared to the mazda forums... the people arent as nice and they are a bit sketchy... But nice S2K man! its purdy(spin)

lol theyre actually not much different from these boards....Its an S2k board, not a civic board

(werd) Some of the S2K-ers can be a bit uppity about their cars, but the FL guys are awesome. :D

Not really gonna start a new one. Ill just post this pic here. First fun pictures I took a few days ago.

It still has a Mazda gearbox :D

This is true, which sucks balwz. If it was a Honda tranny it would shift bettar!(insert sarcasm) I have seen how fast you can shift those Civics though and the likes...those are trannys. I hear these have issues with syncros and such. I'm still happy with it though with the exception of the weakness in that diff. :-/

Aisin makes those gearboxes, but they were initialy developed for MX-5, as you already know.
Do you have more information about issues with it? I just want to be aware of possible problems because of (mis)use of the RWD drive in the corners and such.

Yes it definitely needs coils. I don't want to go with anything cheap on this car. It's gonna be tough finding quality parts cheap haha I know that both those words dont go together.

So far just got a strut bar and Comptech filter. For coilovers im looking at are the Koni, Moton or Bielstein setups. I have to buy a clutch now though, turns out the previous owner never topped off the clutch cylinder and i recently did a fluid check and it was empty. :-/

just saw your mp3-t...must be boring to get in a 200whp car(in straight line of course).

Not at all man, I love it! RWD is a lot more fun around the twist and turns. Hearing the engine rev up to (k puts a big smile on my face and I can understand why people love V-Tec so much now. :-) I do miss the RAW low end power sometimes though but it's not the end of the world.

If I boost this car at around 9 pounds I will be at the way beyond what the MP3 was making after built motor and all. I can achieve this on stock block and still have plenty of room to make more power. It's just a way better platform. Although I doubt ill make the same amount of torque. haha

nobody needs torque when you can rev up to 9k. Those s can handle 500hp on stock block(with 3mm head gasket). But watch out for the differential, rear axle tho.
