auxmod basic question

After doing some reading on this forum, there is one answer I can't find. Will the auxmod basic work for an 06 Mazda3 5-door? All that I have read indicates use through a port under the HU which is tied in with the tape/md button on the HU. I don't have said button on mine, but I do have a "media" button. Would this be the same? I would like to be able to hook my mp3 player up this way if it is possible. Thanks for your help in advance.

Yes it still works with the '06, and the MEDIA button will access that port. There were some initial problems with compatibility when the '06 first came out as Mazda changed HU manufacturers, but syflex redid the firmware on the AuxMod and as far as I know fixed the problem.
