Hello all
Here is my idea of a auxililary input for my Mazda Speed 6 Im so tires of listening to cd and the other aux mod just does not work for me here is how i did it .
First off you will need
1. Belkin Universal fm adapter Under $30 but others may work
1. Sirius Satelite Direct FM Adapter like $20
1. Roll Electrical tape and solder but not required
1 Screwdriver Philips
Okay here we go take the Sirius Fm direct adapter and install it in the car inline with the fm antenna and rout the wire under the center colum
Please feel free to use just give me credit for it thanks
after that come the fun part
Take the front of the universal adapter apart use a small screwdriver to pry carfully around the edges and you have the above picture also peel of the center rubber to find the hidden center screw 5 screws in total
under the plate you will find this
carfully remove the circuit board
on the side you will see a antenna this one happens to be a red wire and cut it in the center do not cut it off unless you like soldering
Now its time to make a small hold in the side of the case towards the bottom at this point take the end of the Input from the Sirius fm adapter and cut the end off and run it through the new hole you made pull enough through so you can make connections
now strip the wire carfully there is a metal shielding jacket for the ground and attach the ground braided side to the top or negative side of the cut antenna wire i used tape and do the same for the other center wire be carefull these wires are delicate
after they are attached dont forget to put some tape uner the wires so any exposed does not touch the circuit bourd this is important
next carefull put the guts back in and pull the slack wire from the case be carefull not to break anything
my completed with some electrical tape not to tight thos these are press buttons
i made use of the powere adapter in the under arm console beacsue it has a nice relive for my wires and it comes on with the key and dont drain the battery
now put everything back together and program a staion on the radio to match the transmitter and enjoy your ipod or mp3 player with no noise aor lost signal enjoy :squareeyed:
