Automatic power windows

Is there a way to make all four switches automatic with just one push for them all to go down, instead of just the drivers side front window? If so, please post something, I am very interested in this.

don't know if it's doable ...but IMO

not good for all to move at the same time..

I have an Optima battery, so it shouldnt be bad on anything would it? I have seen other cars with all 4 that move at once.

This is probably feasible with some parts from Radio Shack. You'd probably want to post this in the Electronics forum, though.

there is most definitely a way. you could probably just reroute the wiring without too much hassle, either splitting it to keep the individual windows' power, and assigning one switch to all window power, or something else in a DIN slot or what have you.

a better circuit would be one that only does 2 windows at a time because otherwise you are putting huge load on the system, i think.

so a single pushbutton, that lowers the first two, when those are down, the back two lower. i think that would be the best idea. how to make the circuit, i dont know, :p

doable, but without workingat a shop, the pieces for how I did it would be spendy. Auto LOC makes modules essentially for alarm window control use that double as one-touch adapters. Basically, it'll use your switches as triggers. I did a post on it ahwile back, either here or audio/elect. I'll post if I find it....

This is what I originally thought, doing all four at the same time would put a huge load on the system. Not good

Yup. Try this: at night, turn your headlights on (in front of a building or something so the light pattern is easier to see), then roll down just the front 2 windows at the same time. Notice the voltage drop. Multiply that by 2 and imagine that much current going through your power window wiring at once.

4-window auto down + Fuse = POP!

I have been wanting to do this also, I haven't taken the master switch out but I've been thinking of just getting another left front door switch and trying it with the right front window seeing if that willl do it.

i am not looking to mod, but just my input on rolling the windows all at once, either up or down. I did it plenty of times, and there was nothing wrong witht he car. You could def. notice voltage drop, engine idle drop and if you have ur lights on, also them dimming.
What would be nice is having the passanger front window do that too.
Also, in the CRV we used to have, the drivers window, also one touch and would go up by itself....i.e... you didn't have to hold it (the reverse of how we have it on the protege)

My rental maxima has auto up and down on both the drivers and passengers sides.

There are other cars out there like that, but as far as my lights dimming, etc. I have never had a problem since I installed my Optima battery
