Automatic Climate Control question

Yeah, I never run the climate control in auto. It just doesn't do what I want it to, so I always run it manually. Also, the temp control is so incremental it takes dozens of turns to go from full heat to a more moderate temp. I hate to hijack but I need to find a way to retrofit a regular intermittent wiper control in place of the useless P.O.S auto-detect, which can't detect light rain or snow on it's most sensitive setting, then when things are hitting the windshield hard enough to be detected you pretty much need the full/slow setting anyway. 9 times out of 10 I have to manually hit the single wipe every 15 seconds to see, since waiting for auto to do it's thing would result in crashy-death. I hate when technology makes things worse.

Mine drives me nuts with the dew on a cool tampa morning
one wipe and its gone,
but capt ECU keeps sweepin every few seconds for a mile or so

This feature is probably my favorite in the car. I will not got back to a manual setup again.

Weird...

So I installed the CP-e Nano this week. Had to adjust it a few times afterwards so I disconnected the battery three times do do all this. I noticed yesterday when I hit the "Auto" rotary knob for the climate control that the AC turned on with the lowest setting and then slowly to the highest. Prior to disconnecting the battery, the AC would just turn on full blast when I used the "Auto" knob to turn on the AC. Temps outside have been just as hot. What gives? Is it supposed to be like this?

With my speed and my 6 before that, it would start with the lowest setting and then ramp up. Depends on the temp setting too, like if its 100 degrees in the car and you have it set to 60 then it will jump to the higher setting quicker.

OK, cool. And I just realized that the temp the Auto Climtae was set to was 72, and not 60 like it used to be. 72 must be the default setting when the battery is disconnected?
