The thing is it doesn't induct anything. There needs to be some kind of "ram air" setup going into the bottom of the box. I cut up my stock box for free and does the same damn thing!

I don't understand Autoexe. They come out with a TMIC that costs twice as much as some FMICs. Their catback costs like 800 bucks. And now they come out with an intake that looks like the stocker, which prolly gives hardly any gains, and will probably cost more than a SRI.

But... but it's "JDM, y0!"

I completely understand them...they are targeting the demographic that assumes more expensive means better. There are idiots born daily and they just chose to target them. Just like the dude who somehow got 1000 for ms3 wheels and tires...

Everything in Japan cost twice as much. Just for an Air Filter kit whether it be Blitz, HKS, Autoexe, Spoon, Mugen etc. starts at $150 and up.

About the only thing that has decent prices are wheels, and even then it's not so cheap.

I did that to my spare stock airbox, took the whole bottom half off except for the area where the filter sits. Am using the mount where the rubber hold is and the side sliding mount plus an extra little one I fabbed. The whole bottom is open to the stock filter. Results? Works like a charm, can't tell any difference between this and when i had the SF intake at all except I dont backfire and the car runs smooth and strong thanks to the stock MAF section. I wouldnt pay any ridiculous amount of money for AutoEXE's ugly red version though, just buy a stock bottom airbox half and do the mod yourself...

Why cut it?

I have a few turns electrical tape on each end.

holds the filter in place nice and snug and leaves the box stock and sitting in the garage ready for the next stealership inspection

this mod is unreal. they charge money for that red plastic??
