this sounds like a good deal. my only concern is warranty issues. heaven for bid i go this, and something happens down the road...

Hi GoFast - this will not effect warranty as it is a non-timed, non-competitive event. No worries. Would love to see you and any of your Mazda buddies there!

For what you get - it is cheap. Breakfast, lunch, social hour, shirt, FOUR 20-minute sessions and instruction by professional instructors and one of the nicest motorsports facilities in the midwest.

It will be a great time!

From knowing people that have gone to Autobarn for service, (only to have their "warranty" s*** on) I have very little confidence that they won't permanently blacklist you from future warranty claims.

P.S. They have very unfriendly salespeople who, effectively, talked their way OUT of selling me an MSP 5 years ago.

The cost of this event is low compared to other events, 1 1/2 hours of track time, 3 meals, classrom instruction, hot laps in the MX-5 cups cars, is a great deal. BeaveRun in Western PA, on one of their Flat Out Fridays is $180 dollars for 3 20 minute sessions and 2 1/2 classroom sessions, no meals, nothing.

Let me put this in perspective for you, the cost od putting on these events are astronomical, as their is insurance, track rental, meals, course workers and much much more. This is a bargain and a great opportunity to learn about your abilities as well as your car. What you learn from these guys will help you on the street, with accident avoidance and the like..

What Mark has put out there for Mazda owners is a great deal and concerns about dealers voiding warranties is nonsense, you are not racing, you are tracking your car.....

Mark, let me know whats in the works for the next event, I was talking to Jason, Charles, Jim Daniels and Chip, they would love to do this event after the racing season is over. I know I can get you 125 Mazda owners from Ohio out for an event. Like I said, I the Tri-Point and the Tindol guys, already on board!

the price is right on. it is a very good deal and not too expensive especially compared to other events i have run, both in cars and on bikes.

as for the warranty concern being nonsense.....nonsense. how many warranties have been voided by dealers because of "abuse". TONS!!!!!! most of those were probably without much in the way of proof. as for the we aren't racing the car, we are tracking the car...nonsense. at least as far as the warranty is concerned. I understand there is a difference, i have been around the block a time or two. however we are not going to be out there taking a leisurely stroll down the track. we may not be running race pace, but we will be running a faster than normal pace.

with all that said...It is still a really good deal. I just wont have my MS3 out there. for all those who haven't run at a track before and AREN'T concerned with their warranty.....GO FOR IT!!! ITS A GREAT DEAL!! AND A TOOOON OF FUN!

Hi gang-

This event will be great - and I have spoken to the GM and the owner of autobarn mazda providing a personal guarantee that this will not void your warranty. The owner is not only a racer himself, but a good friend and I take his word. Mazda themselves have urged this event being run for the mazda owners and enthusiasts.

We have scheduled the event so that you get TWO FULL hours of track time, 4 - 30-minute sessions and breakfast and lunch.

To elaborate further what Marc has said, Mazda is behind this event as so is Mazdaspeed Motorsports. I have tracked all of my Mazda's at various tracks, will be @ a NASA event next month at MId-Ohio.

My dealership completes all of my tech sheets before each event and to date, no warranty issues at all. All of our cars are under warranty and we do take care of all of them. Hopefully, for those who want to see what their cars were meant to do, please take an opportunity to take advantage of this offer.

Marc competes in the MX-5 cup, I am sure he can offer a great deal of knowledge and instruction to anyone who shows up. At most events, all you do is get your track time and maybe a 30 minute classroom session, which you pay $180-$200 for. Here you are getting three meals, 1 hour of track time, classroom and in car instruction.....great value.

Also, Autobahn sponsors Jason Saini's #74 Tri-Point Mazda 6, not sure if Jason will be there, but if he is, you will have someone who can tell you what it is like coming full circle from Auto-X to a SWC TC team.

Actually - you get 2 meals and 2 hours of track time... even better if you ask me.... I will gladly skip a meal for more track time :-)

They are considering cutting the cost for this event - thanks to added support from Mazda. Contact Joe Moulton for details!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: THE PRICE JUST GOT BETTER!

I received a request to offer up the following offer for the Autobarn Mazda Track Days this weekend. We hope many of you or your friends would be interested in taking them up on this.

Due to low registration - Autobarn Mazda & Mazda are offering a 50% discount on either program day. That's right - they are kicking it up a notch providing all registrants a $75 price for 2 hours of track time, Breakfast, Lunch, Event T-shirt & Professional Instruction!

Anyone who has already registered will receive a refund for 50% of their ticket.

We hope that you can share this with all of your contacts and make the effort to contact Joe Moulton @ The Autobarn (847-570-3047) to register or RSVP.

As of right now - this offer is open to anyone - Mazda or otherwise.

Also, Autobahn sponsors Jason Saini's #74 Tri-Point Mazda 6, not sure if Jason will be there, but if he is, you will have someone who can tell you what it is like coming full circle from Auto-X to a SWC TC team.

Jason will be there on Sunday but not Saturday. Friday/Saturday he's up at Road America at the June Sprints running a Spec Miata I believe.

I just got off the phone with Joe Moulton over at autobarn and decided to go for it. you just cant beat that price!! he assured me ill have no worries with warranties. we shall see.
