Auto-Lock Doors and Ignition Questions..

Hi, new to this forum, new to a 2007 CX-7. Love it but have a few questions, and answers probably here already. Thanks for your help, all!

1) is there no way to have doors auto-lock when CX7 reaches like, 15mph, etc? My 2000 Van does this, for cripes sake..

2) I hate the remote key credit card thing. Oh for the days of a normal key (and not that emergency pullout). Question: if i pull up somewhere, and my wife hops out (with the remote keycard), I can drive away and park, but then CANNOT lock the friggin' doors. Can THIS not be overrode too? I know it's to be idiot-proof, but again annoying.

Other than these two daily annoyances, so far so good...

1) Nope. Not an available feature. I know it's annoying. My 2005 Toyota Matrix automatically locks when you put it in "drive".

2) Resolutions:
Carry the second smart-key in YOUR pocket so each you and your wife have one.
OR, when you drive, YOU carry the smart-key.
OR, she hands it to you if she is going to hop out while you park.

Think of it this way. If you had a traditional key system you would HAVE to have the keys on you when she hops out (because they'd be in the ignition). Just because it's a "smart key" doesn't mean it should be able to control your car from a mile away because your wife took it with her while you went to park. As the driver, the key should be in YOUR possession.

But the car did come with two of them ;)

Personally, I LOVE the Smart-Key system. It's the best feature of the Technology Package (don't get me started on the stereo, LOL). I have "autolocking" enabled as well, so when I get out and walk about 4 feet away the car automatically locks. It's awesome. I never have to take it out of my pocket or bag. Only problem is, now I need a smart-key on my house! ;)
