if you just raised your deductable to 500 or 1000 your insurance would go down quite a bit...give your agent a call

I wouldn't recommend that.

Generally, our insureds find that they save only a few dollars a month switching their collision deds from 500 to 1000, and iff you get in any accident, did you really save that few dollars a month?

Also, I feel that one of the most foolish things you can do with your insurance is raise your comprehensive ded higher than $100... not worth it.

Male, 18, Largo FL - SUCKS
Clean driving record - Doesn't seem to help sh*t
3,800/yr full coverage

thats also with good student and every other break I can get pretty much

for comparison my parents each pay about 1,200/yr for the same coverage.

we are not very competitive in MN apparently... our system says $256/month... you are best staying under your parents insurance to get all of their discounts.

and your difference from $500 to $1000 is $8.75/month, so no coll claims for 58 months and you saved $500

Male, 22 Delaware
3 points on license (previous suspension and various speeding tickets, more than 3 years old not counted)
1700 every 6 mos.

suprisingly the MSP is cheaper to insure than my old 03 2.0l Jetta... but Im guessing the total insured vs. wrecked ratio is higher on jettas than on the MSP but thats a guess.

I heard that I won't get a discount until i'm 24 or 25? Is that true? I turn 19 in a few months.

maybe depending on the state, but in WI it drop a little at 19, then 21, then a bigger drop at 25, then the final drop at 30.

ES LX should be virtually the same, if anything, it would be a two percent difference.

You generally get a discount @ the age of 21, followed by a discount @ age 25. Getting married will also be a nice little drop.

Yea. I'm definatly calling soon. Also I keep hearing a bunch of people talk about raising deductable but your right. Even though I haven't been in an accident for my 2 years of driving, i'd still be in the hole if I got into an accident soon. I'd have to continue my good driving for awhile to see the benefits of increased deductable. Problem is you never know who is gunna run a red light when and ram you, ect.

it fits in with Age/sex...

women 25 and over get the married rate if not married, men 30 and over get the married rate even if not married.

their are all kinds of different age sex classifications that can effect rate.

lol marrage costs more money than I could save on insurance for sure, lol. Especially if a divorse happens. I don't think you should get married just to save money on your insurance lol

also, different states have different rules. (they widely varey state to state, and company to company)

also,

Why do divorces cost so much? because they are worth it

and,

Marriage is grand, divorce is 20 grand

IIRC
mine is ~$1200/year full coverage, $100 ded on most stuff/ $500 on some (03 msp)
wifes is ~$700/year full coverage, ditto (01 es)

Male, 26, Southern California. Farmer's Insurance. $91/month with full coverage. Clean record.
