the first combo is the one i need for my car.. right?

also it plugs into the serial port i see. this is the same as my MPI tuner plug in for my laptop, is there a splitter available so i can run both..

Also my laptop doesnt have a serial port in it, so i have a usb->serial adapter will that cause any problems??
In theory yes it should work through the USB->serial adapter...

Does that scantool free software reads only codes? Since I only need to read the codes from the ecu.

Rain

Edit. Found the description for the software , thanks :)

Edit2: Does it show the AF ratio if it can see the sensors?

it does not show the exact ratio (example - 14:1, 12:1, etc). The software does read codes and also reads your fuel mix, your open and closed loop status, throttle position, rpm, vehicle speed sensor, and so on.

I just wanted to mention that if you have a handspring visor based pda (as I do) you have to spend and extra $40 for a special cable from auterra.

If anyone knows of another vendor, please let me know.
