audiobahn immortals

no i really cant say due to some people do business with one of my sponsor's who is an audiobahn retailer so i dont want them to get pissed off at him since he will charge them more.

you're gonna need that turbo with all that extra weight!!! wow, can't wait to see it all set up!

lol ya the turbo will help. but like i said when i go to the track i will take it all out

Man, you will have a lot of weight in your trunk.....get your custom drop without getting springs.

They look nice.....

as nice as that would be i dont have the trunk room or the cash right now

we put air in my sons civic, wow...rode like bad...but looked cool! he had a remote so he could rock and drop the car from like 50 feet away....unsuspecting onlookers would get a real surprised when he slammed the car down as they walked by!!

unless you can calculate and adjust for displacement pretty exactly, I highly recommend you don't do ported unless you just go common chamber man. Either way I'd assume those would prefer a much larger box to get any actual benefit from going ported. Rightaround one foot a pop sealed should be good, though.

well i was thinking the same thing but the recomendations say that sealed is bad and to do a 1.1 foot a piece so that is what i am designing around. i had to totally redesign everything since what i wanted would not fit but i have done all the calculations and will fit the 3 subs (2 inverted) and my amp all mounted nicely in the trunk and the nx bottle will have to go into the backseat so i ordered a blow down tube today to make it ncca legal. anyway we will see what happens. if it does not sound good i will redesign it but i figured i would go off their specs first

I'd much rather have three 500 watts subs than one 1500 watt sub (let alone three of them) but to each his own.

I'm a big fan of realistic sound systems that are designed to be heard inside instead of outside the car...and 4500 watts just for subs is not something you listen to inside your car at full or even 3/4 volume. Don't forget that your car's electrical system will be hurting pretty badly if it has to bump out 4500 watts on a regular basis.

I guess what I'm saying is that watts are different from horsepower...more doesn't necessarily mean better.

ya i am upgrading the electrical some and i am using these subs because i think they will look good at shows. i have the box halfway done btw so in a few days i will show everybody how they look

Well if its a show car then fine...they will win points for their bling-bling factor.

...but for daily driving its overkill that's all.

Go with sealed. The box will take up less space and you won't have to worry about tuning it just right. With fiberglass it can be difficult because you never know the exact volume of the enclosure so choosing the right port length is trial and error.

well i am going with the exact specs i got from the sub and i have 2 space saver designs that are 1.1 cu ft of airspace which will be inverted and one spl setup which is 2.5 cu ft of airspace. here is a quick inprogress pic and yes it does take up the entire trunk, between the 2 lower subs will be an amp rack and beneith that will be the brain to the dvd, once i get my new amps next week they will go on the sides of the back sub box. air will be circulated by a 4 fan setup so nothing overheats. anyway just realize i am building a flush top piecs that will be 3 piece and carpeted so everything will be clean. but like i mentioned b4 i will be able to pull everything out in abt 30 minutes so when i go to the track the weight wont matter and it will look good at shows. i was going to fiberglass but i dont have times since i have a show on the fifth of jun and still have alot to do.

Holdup. Let me get this right, you're making 2 different sized boxes? if it's not too late, stop and rethink. I understand show and whatnot and allof that, but having the same sub in different sized boxes in one car= horriblly scattered responce. You can't always just add bass in any old mannar and expect output to increase. in fact you may be shooting yourself in the foot half of the time with some frequencies cancelling eachother out. If you can't do all the same sized box, I still highly recommend that you put them in a common airspace.
