i have a sealed box holding a 10' alpine type s sub, pioneer 180 watt front speakers, a panasonic front deck (50x4), and a alpine 4 channel bridgable amp.
I run the front speakers and use the bridge option to run the sub.
I find that there is way too much bass even at a lower setting.
I would like my sub to help the bass not create a drown effect.
I have turned down the gain a hell of a lot on the amp and i have it set so i can more percisely tune the sub with the deck sub output level.
for the most part when it is turned down it sounds great, when I crank the system it starts to suck.
my friends all say i should have the bass cranked but then I would be listening to bass and not the music that I love so much.
I do not feel the need to drown out some santana guitar solo with bass.
anyway i would like to get an eq in there and get more mid bass.
so to answer your question the proteg carries the bass really well so turn that down and the highs sound great elevated a little, as for mid I still need to do something about that I am lacking a bit there.
