Audio playback pause/resume issue on Bluetooth & USB

I have an issue with audio playback resuming by itself shortly after starting my vehicle. The problem is that it always resumes. I think this feature is great if the audio was in play mode before shutting down the vehicle. But, my dilemma is that it automatically resumes even if I have paused playback before turning off the vehicle. This functionality goes against the expected policy of maintaining the same state of every component in the vehicle before shutting down.

Is anyone else noticing this issue? Are there any workarounds? If not, I'm going to contact Mazda to see if they can fix it in a firmware update.

2016 Mazda CX-5 GT w/tech pkg.
-Tested the issue with both v51.00.300 and v55.00.753A
-Happens with my phone via bluetooth and USB flash drives.

Eh... This seems to be really a minor complaint frankly considering some people have full on issues where it doesn't work period. Not to mention your stated expected policy isn't really valid. There are many components in your car that will not maintain the same state as prior to shutting down(All those fun features you can disable with buttons like traction control get turned back on et al.). Not to mention this is probably something that's actually an issue with your phone. PowerAmp for example has the ability not to auto play when connected.

true.

I am definitely learning something here. There are more features that I didn't realize reset after a restart:

-Traction control system on/off
-Sports Mode on/off
-Rear view mirror automatic dimming mode
-Rear window defogger on/off

But, there are still a ton of electronic controlled features that do maintain state after a restart:

-Blind spot monitoring on/off
-Cruise control mode on/off
-Instrument info and display mode
-Driver seat heat level
-Passenger seat heat level
-Driver seat position
-Electric parking brake on/off
-Climate control system:
-Air intake selection
-A/C on/off
-mode
-temperature
-fan speed
-window shield defrost on/off
-Side mirror positions
-Windows
-Door locks
-Moon roof
-Infotainment:
-Sound source selection (FM, AM, XM, Aha, Pandora, Stitcher, CD, Bluetooth, USB)
-Mode (music, communications, navagation)
-Song (track and location within)
-Volume level
-Mute on/off
-All configuration settings

Hmmm... Have you tried it yourself? I just downloaded the app and it doesn't stay paused like you say. I saw the "Resume On Bluetooth" option in settings, but the car is still issuing a play command which the app allows.

Besides, it not just the phone. As I stated in the original post, a USB flash drive has the same problem. And now I just verified that a CD has the same issue.

It's almost certainly related to the phone. My phone if I don't disable it will auto play when the USB is plugged in, bluetooth is connected or when the AUX port is plugged in.

I think you are referring to when it connects. I'm able to turn that feature off as well like you said. But, now try turning off your car/infotainment system and back on again. The music will start playing again regardless of that setting in PowerAmp.
