Personally with your set up, get the 8 guage kit and that should be just fine. The kit should already come with 2 sets of rca cables, one to run to the line driver and the other to run to the amp. Tap the remote wire into the cig. lighter, and you will need to purchase an RCA converter, just go to best buy and pay the 20 bucks for one. Use the wiring diagram that was posted, except use the REAR speakers to splice in the RCA converter, so the rear speakers might lose some strength, but that is okay since you barely hear them anyway.

So you know how to wire it up, I don't think you will have any issues.

P.S. Make sure you use a good ground, if you are going to use a bolt where there is paint, make sure to sand paper that pain off so you have a good contact with the ground.

To remove the head unit, you have to take that piece of trim off that runs above the glove box and to the display. It just clips off, than you unscrew the head unit to get to the back of the head unit to hook up the RCA converter. Also, make sure your battery is disconnected through all of this.

thanks for all the help guys...just ordered the following:

-7" In-dash touch screen dvd/cd/mp3 player (bit the bullet and found a good deal on replacement headunit)
-12" 1000 watt sub with box
-800 watt amp
-all wiring along with fuses
-InV2 Satellite Radio

Left to buy:
-Metra Double-din kit
-Mazda 3 aftermarket headunit wiring harness
-Ground Loop Isolator for the satellite radio

I will have pics up after the install is complete. For people who are good with satellite radio (i am installing AFTERMARKET sirius satellite...not doing the stock mazda one), will the sirius unit just plug right into the new headunit I bought and will i STILL utilize the aux input in the arm rest compartment, or is that negated after taking out the stock headunit??
