ATTN: transmission guys/girls

I have a 1998 626 that was driveable when purchased, but now none of my gears are engaging. No reverse and drive.

I swapped the transmission and ECU but still no results.

Could this be the transmission itself or the transmission solenoid valve body?
note: transmission was purchased with warranty.

Tranny fluid levels were accurate but after test driving the new tranny, the levels rose after 2 miles of driving. I believe my tranny is good but my electrical systems are faulty.

Mods, techs, and mazda gurus this one's for you!

check the trans fluid, if it looks like it has a metalic look, id say its probally the trans

You installed another transmission and the results were the same as the original?

Did you pull the codes from the ECU? A 98 model should be able to give them to you.
