at least we didn't get shafted like subaru owners

Oh, I considered the awd loss when I made that statement. I've seen numbers close to 300hp with no tune.

awd loss is a hell of a lot greater than fwd/rwd. looking at this...maybe i caught the guy at the very tip of his band?

Possibly, it's hard to say. With the ms3 you have to keep it in that narrow 4.5-6k rpm band. And with the short gears to keep it there means shifting quickly. It's got a lot of torque from 3k but that's not where the most hp is.

Anyway with bolt-ons and the flash/piggy back software, the curves look flatter and there's more power closer to redline. That automobile dyno is also among the lowest I've seen for stock. 225-240 seems to be the norm. But dynos vary so much I don't take them completely at face value.

Wow...This really brings me BAck to The MSP vs. SRT4 Days...
Awwww....the memories.....Of idiots past.

either way. i do like the speed 3. i really do. wish it had awd and an auto tranny. wish the speed 6 had the auto.

but if anyone wants awd when both are stated 265 that awd will dyno at 200 or so while the fwd will be what you stated. if the awd is needed there are only a few choices. and as i already stated the previous gens were under rated already. if all subie does is increase boost then anyone else on their own can do the same. for high hp and modding the subie has the after market already established.

i tell you what...i have no problems losing power for awd. btw, if you wanna see something decently fast, go check out a turbo g35.

msp vs srt-4 is no contest.

srt-4 will stomp it.

i don't even like them. got to give credit.

i heard the new calibers or what ever are runninng 11's now.

get this...

"The car is running 9PSI, and is running decently strong. The best trap it has gotten is 102.8, best time of 14.14."

stock! and only a few hundred $$ seperating you from them. they are faster...

see, there are other cars out there.

N/M...As usual..from reading your posts already.....You missed the point.

This is a losing arguement from both sides...but people are so stuck on themselves/their cars to see it.

That is all.
Carry on.

and only one can win.

i know exactly what you meant.

seriosuly though...srt 4 > speed 3. just the way it is.

anyone notice the new turbo cobalt pulling 100+ in the 1/4?

you gusy are not alone and are not the top of the chain no matter how bad you wish you were.

how can you keep making these blanket statements? stock for stock, those 2 are so close that its almost always a driver's race. what makes the CSRT4 better than our car? like i've said a billion times, IT ALL COMES DOWN TO DRIVER PREFERENCE. i bought my speed cuz the seats fit me much better than the dodge's, i felt the interior was a little nicer, i had more room in the back seat with the driver's seat back, and the clutch felt better to me.

so... the MS3 is a better car... FOR ME.

that does not mean the MS3 is necessarily a better car in general.

you've already tried pathetically to make blanket statements about all MS3 owners. we're all fanbois, we think our car is the best thing since sliced bread, its the fastest car evar!!!!!!!!

you just dont get it.

As far as sports compacts are concerned the MS3 is pretty much the cream of the crop whether you like it or not (It’s won every comparison test it’s been in). All the other cars you've mentioned would only make it a driver’s race. None of them completely dominates one or the other. You apparently need a reality check so I've pulled a couple reviews for you from Car and Driver.

Cobalt ss:
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...2008_chevrolet_cobalt_ss_short_take_road_test - (0-60) 5.7 secs / 1/4mile 14.2@102 // .92 g's skid pad

Mazdaspeed3:
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...2008_volvo_c30_t5_comparison_test+page-5.html - (0-60) 5.6 secs / 1/4mile 14.2@100 // .87g's skid pad

*Notice how close they are.

Then you take into account things like practicality, re-sale value, interior & exterior quality, etc and to me you have an obvious winner but not everyone values the same kind of things out of a car.

The most famous quoted dyno ever!

If you look at the Civic si, GTI, WRX, SRT-4 boards this dyno graph is all over the place. They love to use this one as ref to justify their purchase and belittle the MS3 apparently.

all of a sudden it'c close?

that's fanboi for you...

some place got the legacy gt at a skid of .84 or .85 with STOCK tires...does that mean it's close to the speed 3 now with summers???

some people value things over another huh? like awd??

why is that when your car gets slapped around all of a sudden i hear a different tune?

wanna see something funny? look for the legacy gt gt35r what have you vs a more powerful e55 with mods...the gt has less measured power but somehow pulls ahead..how can that be possible? ooohhh...sustained powerband? magic?

Are you really still here posting lame ass YOUTUBE videos of modded cars / street racing and such?? Dude, you fail

Maybe its just me but I didnt see any fan blowing on the intercooler....can we say heatsoak? And I figured you a subaru owner would know how important that could be.

i did an idle test with hood open and hood closed. at least 20 degree difference with iat's. stayed below 100 with hood open and the ic didn't get hot. my tube is all black plastic and seriously absorbs heat easily.

so...as you were saying?

Thats still not an accurate dyno run if they didnt even try to replicate a real world driveing situation with air flow being extremely important with a TMIC. I have touched my cars intercooler with the hood open and I KNOW they get extremely hot on a MS3 so the question is what was your point?
