Are you effing kidding me?!!!!!!!!!!

Buy one of those cheap survallence camaras from Costco, hook it up outside and try to identify who is doing this s***.

does anybody else have any advice. does anybody know about paint fade? anybody seen a silver car been repaired flawlessly? thanks in advance. i want to hear from some of the people that are crazy about their cars like i am. what would they do if this was their car?

my car hasn't been waxed fully so i'm afraid that might play a part. idk though. it's still pretty new. :/

I had a silver 2002 Protege ES (until this past november) that was involved in a fender bender and i took it to a shop i trust and he repaired everything and you couldnt tell the repair from the rest of the paint. as long as they know what they are doing and know how to fade in the new paint to the old you cannot tell, even up close.

I would say that you should fill up about 5-10 water balloons with fresh paint and stake out if you don't have a paintball gun. Once you get their car nice and good, call the cops and tell them that you were experimenting with painting a room in your house when you saw a car full of hooligans come up and it was the first thing that came to mind. A car with a few giant paint splatters should be pretty easy for them to find. Just my .02 cause that's honestly what I would do if someone did that to my car.

idk. i want to get cameras but i feel like the damage has been done. i kind of feel like i might as well not even try to park it in the garage anymore. idk, i'm crazy i guess.

the garage is so packed full of stuff and it's all thrashed. i'd have to do some major cleaning to get my car in there. my parents kind of wouldn't let me before but i think they know now that my car isn't safe outside at all.

if they do a good job on the repair, i'm gonna garage it for sure.

so, i just got off of the phone with specialty car craft.

they offered me free detailing and to tow my car since i'm out of town.

seems pretty legit.

normally i'd be worried letting anybody tow my car or touch it with detailing products but these guys only work on exotic cars. mazerati, ferarri, lambo, lotus, etc.

i think if my car has a shot of a good repair, this is probably one of the best places to take it. if they can't make it right, i probably wont find somebody who can.

i'm feeling slightly optimistic.

good luck with the repair bro! Some b**** egged my car too, and not only that, they threw bleach at it in hopes of futzing up my paint, it was in the dead of winter too, so it eas a b**** to clean up.

But I never had it repainted, nothing that a few passes of the clay bar and a good detailing, fixed her right up!

actually. my mom took some pics the night of. i'm gonna upload them right now...

ok, here we go. now for anyone that says "you can't even see it. leave it alone." let me egg your car with 3 eggs.

there are probably 100 chips in all from the three eggs.

the one nearest the window trim and the one in the middle of the door were from the first egging. the new one is on the edge of the driver door.

:(

very difficult to photograph how bad the chips actually are, but you can see there are tons of them. none of these can be repaired. none of them will "just polish out"

have you read the thread? or just the last page?

i'm not looking for sympathy. especially not from you.

but it would be nice to hear stories of things like this with happy endings.

I am still confused....There is nothing you can do for Egg chips short of repairing and repainting the area.

There is no miracle fix..IT sucks..and People dont even realize what damage eggs do unless they have had it happen to them.

Most people think the damage is caused by the Egg inside..when in fact..the damage is from the Shell which acts as a thousand tiny razorblades cutting into your paints surface on impact.

SOrry bout your car man..but what exactly are you looking for here?

And I am not sure what your little comment is supposed to mean.

haha, thanks. i'm sorry to hear about your 11 dings. :(

i'm semi-optimistic right now after talking with the shop, but who knows.

i know it's not going to be 110% perfect but i know it's possible to make a seemless repair. most body shop repairs that are done aren't done with care. especially insurance jobs. the shop really usually don't give a s*** and usually neither does the client.

but this shop works on ferarri's. it's not as if someone's going to take their ferarri back if it doesn't look good. hopefully they'll understand my OCD and do the absolute best they can. that's all i can expect.

i guess we'll see.

i've never had good experiences with body shops. so i just kind of wanted people to share with me that they've had a positive experience with repairing their car. people like me. who actually don't want 300 chips on their doors.

i know there's not a miracle cure for egg chips. i know what eggs do to cars. not sure what you're implying here...

the car either has to be touched up, touched up and re-cleared, resprayed, or left alone.

i'm not prepared to leave it alone anymore.

i was upset when i posted the thread, obviously, and i'm looking for someone to tell me it's gonna be ok. that they had the same thing happen to them and their car was fixed 100%. i've already gotten a couple responses similar.

i don't expect everyone to think the same as me but i know there are a lot of people on here that do. just waiting for those people to chime in. some already have.

Here..I paint..And here is my answer...
A good body shop can repair the car in such a way that you should not be able to tell it was repaired unless YOU..Personally ....Look for it.

Hows that.

Oh..and yes..Eggs suck..

I was referring to all the people who have never had the "pleasure" of seeing Egg damage first hand on their own vehicles.

The majority of people think the damage is done by the egg..when really..its done by the shell.

Thats all I was getting at.

that's fine. i agree that i will probably be able to pick out the repair. but someone else, like me, shouldn't be able to see the repair if they tried. i can usually tell a car that's been resprayed from a mile away. then again, i've seen cars that've been repaired and i can't even tell until i find a tiny fisheye. which, to me, is unacceptable.

i saw a guy with a zo6 the other day and i had no idea his car had been sprayed, never thought to look. but it had aftermarket rear fenders and hood. his car was silver so that helped me out quite a bit. but it also looked brand new.

is it wrong for me to want to hear stories of joy? :)

the ONLY thing i'm worried about at this point is paint fade. i haven't necessarily taken the absolute best care of my car. never been waxed fully yet. if something crazy gets on it, i'd wash it right off but i've left it sitting in the sun pretty much the whole summer. i don't drive it much... always been parked outside, in the sun. idk. it doesn't look faded at all. :/

anyway. i'm OCD about my cars. there's nothing i can do about it. (screwy)
