Are these cars really this slow?

Depends on which single cam motor it was too... not to mention which gen Civic it was. When my EK still had the D16Y8 in it, it was quicker than my Protege. Much lighter, better gearing, same stock power levels. Math says yes, potential to be quicker.

ek, civc, i only ever had problems with the v-tec models. even an eg ex was faster. i have a 94 civic ex with the d16y8(v-tec) it has a header, full exhaust, cat delete, intake, and short through, and it is quick for what it is, but i am sure that it would have taken my pro before it was boosted. now it doesnt have a shot in hell. the pro looked better losing than most cars winning however. one of the best looking cars ever in my personal opinion
