Are there negatives to the MS3

Hello to all. I have been looking the past couple of months in purchasing a new vehichle. i currently own a 2001 toyota tundra. This past month I thought I had made a decision in purchasing a Mazdaspeed6, but I havew recently changed my mine. I have been reading multiple car magazine (especially car and driver) and they cannot get their hands off of the vehichle.
I decided today to go look at one and I am very impressed. The car was a blast to drive.

My main question is I know about many of the positives, but what are the negatives to the vehichle? Thanks to everyone in advance.

im confused about what car your referring too.

the title is about a speed3

but your talking about a 6 in your post...

MS3, its in the title...

As for negatives.....

Nothing really, unless you opt for the Sport, and then realize later on you should've gotten the GT model.

-The stock shifter and shifter bushings can be stiffer. Its pretty mushy and too tall for some folks. At least for me, I really dig my short throw.

-Bose 6 disc changer doesn't read MP3 cd's, although there is an AUX port for your Ipod, or Zune.

- The cup holder when you put drinks in it get in the way of shifting more comfortably, so I leave those empty, and use the door cup holders. :-)

Can't think of anything else..

I love my MS3 to death! Even though the CREAK of the seatbelt for a while drove me insane. But it was a easy fix. <3 the Ms3

Bah the tires are not expensive...now my S2000 Tires where expensive...$120+ each.

Negatives to the 3 - Squeaks are the only thing that pisses me off. The car has quite a few of them to be honest. Specially when its cold out.

Eventually you'll lost interest in pets, friends, family, girlfriends, wives, work, and everything else. Within a year of owning the car all you will do is troll mazdas247 and hit refresh on the cobb and corksport webpages waiting for new goodies.

Seriously though, my only complaints are that the stock stereo system doesn't play my mp3 cds, there are a few squeaks and rattles that come out in the cold. Other than that, no problems at all!

You're right about the rattles.

I think that the Bose system will read MP3's for 08.5, so that may not be an issue anymore.

well, here's my list of negatives on the car, but most of it u can live with, unless your a perfectionist ;)

1. wheel hop and torquesteer is there, but it all depends on how u drive, also if u can handle it, but it's mild and CAN be fixed with mods. but it's typical with a fwd with this much power ;).

2.mp3 is missing, and it should be in it.

3. The damn wheel get's brakedust like whoa, it's not harmful, can wipe off easily, but it can get on your nerves !

4. the power is there, sumtimes, u can;t get enough, u abuse it on highways....then boom cops pull u over ;).

so far that is all :)
3.

I was afraid of the squeeks. My Tundra drives me nuts with the squeeks. I have to drive with my stereo up for a while to get used to it. This is one of the biggest reasons why I do not want this car. Thanks everyone for the quick replies.

Squeaks or not a MS3 is a totally different vehicle than a Tundra. For a daily driver the MS3 would be much more fun and get better gas mileage too. Of course you can't haul a 4-wheeler in a MS3. That may be a good thing, people are always wanting to borrow my F-150.

Oh, and I don't have any squeaks, but I'm only at about 1,800 miles and I don't drive on rough roads.

I had a 2000 Tundra as my daily driver (Back and forth to school) and it squeaked/Creaked/Screamed/Cried it had every noise that there could be in a car. The MS3 (for me) just had a "seat belt" creak and it was just a matter of putting a little lube there and not a noise now. The MS3 you can't beat right now and I know you will love it over your Tundra.

Hopefully you will enjoy your switch from the Tundra to the MS3 as much as I did. (Even though :hehe: I still have my 911 that I drive)

I dunno, I have about 3400 km's on mine and its still solid with zero squeaks or rattles..... I guess I"m lucky..

the reason I am getting rid of my truck is that I now have a company truck. I will mainly be driving the car during the weekends and at night.

absolutely love it! If it's a RWD it would be even better but still no complain!

I agree , lack of traction when pushed to it maximum capacity of acceleration i think is the only negative other than that the car is perfect.

Not awd. Right leg seems a little cramped against the console. Stock stereo could be better. (I have the sport) Other than that this is the most fun car I have ever owned. No squeaks or rattles here. If you are a car freak like me, get it, you wont be dissapointed. I also have an SRT4. I like the Ms3 a lot more.

Yeah, i have been looking at the grand touring model. The only reason why I wanted it is it came with HID, LED tail lights, and the bose stereo system. I thought adding $3,000 to the car, it was a pretty good bang for your buck. I am thinking this is to good of a deal?
