I will be picking up my brand new 2008 CX-9 GT (Nav and luxury pakage) on Thursday. I'm not sure if the rear brake light are LED or not. I prefer LED over conventional lights for both looks and life expectancy. Thanks.
Not only are they LEDs, they are realy really bright. Stuck in night time bumper to bumper traffic I got to watch the folks behind me flinch every time I hit the brakes. It's like shining a flashlight into the car behind you.
I'm actually thinking of trying to do something to reduce the intensity of the rear lights. I absolutely hate driving behind cars with super bright rear lights and I certainly don't want to inflict the same on other road users.
I'm not sure whether I should try to darken the lens or maybe put a resistor in series with the LEDs. At least with LEDs rather than normal light globes I will be dealing with a much lower current so the resistor getting hot shouldn't be a problem.
