are 19s a good idea?

Is it? will it increase the traction on this car? will the heavy wheel jsut make it worse?
 
wheels don't = traction. Tires = traction. Added rotational mass and unsprung weight is bad. Your brakes have to slow it down. Your suspension has to react with the increased poundage. You'll lose road horsepower.

16s, 17s, and to a lesser extent 18s are the sizes you want. I've always preferred 17s. There is a SLEW of good performance tires for 17s. There's also a reason for that-
 
19's would look nice if your going for the "flashy" look. Something with a lip would go nicely at that size.....so it wont also look so damn big :)

Agreed, if your looking for best traction/performance/look, get some wider light 17s with a good amount of light rubber, probably a 235/55/17 tire would be good?

But then again youve got a AWD speed6. I still would go 17s or 18s... 19s are for show
