OK, so I took my car into the dealer for some warranty work (like I do every-other week), and I get it back with gouges in the silver painted trim around the stereo and A/C controls. So I point it out and they order the part and put it in for me. I'm dricing home and it seems a little weird to me. The color seems a little off. I ignore it, assuming that I just haven't been in my car for two days and I'm picky. I pick up my girlfriend to go somewhere, and she's like "Oh, you got the dash fixed! Hmmm, why is it a different color?"
WTF! If she notices it, then something is off. When you compare it to the other silver trim pieces (ie - around the shifter and cup holders, around the window controls on the doors), it looks a little darker and like it's tinted slightly golden, not extreme, but noticeable. The thing is, it matches the color of the silver on the steering wheel.
I am REALLY getting pissed off about this. Everytime I take it to the dealer (the only one in my area that is allowed to work on MSP's), I get it back with something else that they ****** up.
What I am asking is that someone with a 2003 MSP please check to see if the trim piece that I'm talking about is suppsoed to be different. I don't remember it being like that, but I could be wrong.
Also, on a side note, they don't know how to use a trim tool. They gouged the black plastic right below the stereo trim, but to replace it, it looks like they'd have to replace the entire dash! I am NOT going to give them my car for another 2 days to do that just to get it back with somethign else f'ed up!
