Anyone See Underworld This Weekend???

not bad, but not great. won't see it again in theaters, but might get it later on video. the effects were pretty good, with a decent plot twist or two.

Didn't do it for me like I imagined. Maybe just because I went in with high expectations.

I saw it with a friend and a girl. The friend had seen it the night before and he reads all these vampire books and is into that s***.

The girl wanted to see it for the longest time so thats why I took her, I think she thought it was ok, she gets scared and grossed out easily so my hand hand suffered when she was scared..

I dont watch TV or listen to the radio much so I hadnt heard of it yet, but it was ok I guess. It seems like there could be a second movie for it, but I hope it doesnt get all cheezy.

I thought it was pretty good.
Had a Matrix look and feel to it.
It was better than a lot of other movies that have been out lately.
But I still think Pirates of the Caribbean has been the best movie I saw this year.

I actually gave them props for not going on Matrix on the moves! There was only one slow down in a fight scene and none of that bullet crap!
I did give them minus's for the Fast and Furious crap - you know the going into the internals and seeing what all is going on. That is kinda annoying to me.
I walked in there thinking this was going to be set in the White Wolf Vampire/Werewolf world and was nicely surprised that it wasn't.
I like that it didn't get all mushy!
I didn't like that there wasn't more wolf stuff in it.
Enjoyed the human side to the immortals.
Some of the plot was good. Descriptions good.
The actress I was very impressed with considering she normally plays mousy characters!
All in all I give it a 7.5-8 for its genre. Overall movies probably a 7.

eh, it's just a ripoff of Romeo and Juliet. "Our families have been feuding for centuries." so of coarse a romance breaks out between the two families. THey just modernized it and made it cooler w/ vampires and werewolves.

It was decent for what it was. My expectations were somewhat low but I enjoy a nice mindless movie from time to time and this one hit the spot. There were several scenes that were underproduced and looked rushed. There were others that you could tell they put more effort into like the first action sequence. Is it just me or did the Wolves get the better deal in this interpretation of the two creeps? The had control over "turning" which is not a normal feature for the dogmen. Anywho, if you are in the mood for something entertaining but far from flawless I'd recommend it. A good change of pace if you typically go to movies for content or acting and just want to see some violence and a little gore.

Well, for such a small budget, $30 mil, the effects were pretty good.

I guess the director saved some money by hiring his girlfriend for the lead role :)

I thought it ripped off of Blade more than anything. They've already announced a sequel and I'm sure I'll go see it. However my only positive vibe from the movie was the RE2 trailer at the beginning.

That was my thought also. It reminded me of blade with everything from the music - to the fighting style and action.

Well there are some similarities between this and other movies. Yes it was a take on Romeo and Juliet. That is like a major given. As far as Blade. Well there are a lot of differences. And there are some similarities. If you get into the whole lore thing, it is a very new take. If you get into the whole nowaday thing...then yes it is like White Wolf/Blade/Any other vamp movie that believes in Masquerade.
Having the weapons to fight each other is very Blade and very not, other series have used it too.
It is unlike Blade with the whole invincibility issue. Other than the werewolf/vamp being. But you don't know if he is invincible or just stronger then the rest. Blade is more of a one man fighting machine. Selene is actually fearful of getting her head ripped off by the werewolves. Blade was indifferent to any enemy. He was never fearful, not even once!
The new stuff is having a vampire Ancient sleep until their next reign, the origin of vampire/werewolf, and the fact that a vamp could get knocked up.
There are lots of wholes in the story. I don't claim it is so original or anything of the sort. But come on, how many things are truly original???
Even R.E. is just a hop skip and jump from Night of the Living Dead.
Oh, and the trailor for that.....I totally thought it was another commercial. I was getting sooooo pissed off at that! 10 commercial. I swear 10!!! And then to think I was going to see another one....and then it was RE 2....yeah it got me good!

heard it was average but i still want to see it.

SPOILER:

everyone keeps talking about some satanic darker colored hulk. its like a hybrid or something. makes me want to see the movie more, lol. stanic hulk!

I just saw that movie 1 hour ago, and it really blows. I guess They couldnt even think of a MUCH BETTER ending. Stupid. Hollywood is running out of ideas.

I haven't seen it but White Wolf was the first thing that came to mind. Something kinda funny, on some tv show one of the writers was like "we didn't take this from a comic book or video game or anything".
