I know hiboost just released theirs, but it changes the orientation of the turbo. I would like a stainless tubular direct replacement, but I can't get a shop to custom fab one, since this is my only car, and I can't be without it for more than a day.

Nope, nobody has one. Ion offers one but it's $$$

Supposedly DC Sports is going to be offering one soon, but it's said coming soon on their website for ages. I called them a couple of months ago and back then they said in 3-4 months, but I am not holding my breath.

can I ask why? the cast iron callaway one is hella strong.

DC Sports is making one btw.

EDIT: I'm too slow :(

My callaway manifold cracked... Before my engine build was done.

Better flow and stainless doesn't conduct heat as well as iron => less exhaust energy wasted & cooler engine bay. And longer lasting..

but was that do to improper casting, strain etc?
That's a good question.

I have the ION Turboback exhaust, but nobody else has had problems with this exhaust, so my theory is that maybe I just got a weak manifold?

how much of a power increase would a tubular manifold bring to a setup similar to mine?

Jrod, just curious as to whether or not you could bolt the GT28RS directly up to our manifold. Or is there something that has to be done to do this correctly. Thanks in advance..

Size matters

My question is I.D. and outer diameter on the Callaway manifold?
DC Sports?
I am very interseted in improving exhaust performance on my stock MSP, I have been doing some reading but it mostly comes down to Cat back vs. down pipe back and cat cheat vs cat. I figured it makes sense to start at the header, this is the first thread I found discussing it (relative newbie). I was begining to think it would just come down to expense and noise, but heat is definitely a power robbing issue. Hope y'all don't mind if I follow along. (RTM)

Just kidding. Welcome to the boards. I don't think anyone has info on the diameter for the DC sports manifold since it hasn't been released yet, and like so many other potential parts for this car, it may never be. Maybe someone else can chime in about the diamtere of the stocker

The GT28RS bolts right up, however on mine we had to replace the wastegate actuator with the one from the stocker because the one on the GT28RS came to close to the engine block in it's position from the factory.

Thanks man. I may just go with our stock manifold and upgrade to the (Potatoe), along with injectors and the Haltech. Or I may go ahead and jump on a complete HiBoost setup, once they release pricing for everything.

By the way, I found the GT28RS for 999.99 has anyone seen it cheaper yet ??? And lastly, is the GT25R much diff. from our turbo. It list for about 979.00 on the same site.

Thanks a bunch fellas...

I think that the GT series is just a better bearing setup, isn't it? I'm not really sure, this is more of a question than an answer.
