Anyone have the Wagner Motorsports Turbo Kit?

Whoa...hold up... Are u only getting 170whp off of 7.5psi? I know Spoolin's kit put out damn near that at only 4psi and the Highboost kit is 214 hp to the tire at 8psi. Guess which turbo I'm buying... yep u guessed it Highboost all the way

Spoolin got no where near that at 4 PSI.
They got 150 whp form 5 PSI.

no wagner kit has been dyno'd yet.. just an estimate.. i feel it is around 200whp.. totally a guess though.

I think hi boost got 239hp at 14 psi. I will be dynoing the mp5 this saturday. Joel is running 8 psi. I will be posting the numbers this weekend.

I can't wait I need a turbo for sure. These 80 mph speeding tickets are getting old, I need to get one I can fame and put on my wall.

Don't forget that 214 is SAE corrected.

SImp3 - don't expect much more than 170whp from 4-5psi.

lol 150 was on the 1.6liter dave potter car. Which runs more now at the wheels. I been busy moving down to Florida but Andy is a good guy.

I was really looking at reliability as well. As much as I would like more power, my main concern is that the car would last. I didn't feel like always tinkering with the car. Andy's kit seem the safest. When I called spooolin his stage one had less Hp but stage 2 had a whole more, but I got the impression that it didn't seem reliable enough as a daily driver and I not the handiest around cars. May be I misunderstood him.No offense to spoolin, he seems to have a great, honest business as well. I just didn't feel like blowin my engine for my need for speed.

From Spetember 2002 T28 at 6 lsbs of boost and it was like 110 degrres out with 100% humdity NO Intercooling at all VORTEC FMU at 8:1 basicsally Witchdoctors aka Danny current kit
Wagnermotorsports setup ver1

FYI before taking the car off the street for racing only, I had almost 30,000 miles on Andrew's (Wagner Motorsports) manifold/turbo setup with absolutely no problem at all. Not even from day one. The main problem I had was fuel cut from the damn Mazda ECU and the clutch burning up in about a week but those problems have been solved. Those miles include about 30 Autoxs, several strip days, and a couple track event, plus daily driving to and from work 82 miles round trip driving all the time like a stole it. Hell some evenings I could race around the D.C. and Baltimore Beltway at no less than 100mph if I could help it. By the way Ive had the speed needle past the 130 mark more than once.

Currently I'm running a Custom Turbonectics T3/4 with 3in in and out no cat exhaust 21/2 IC piping a conquest FMIC and water/menthol injection plus RC 240cc injectors no oem fuel regulator but a Wagner Motorsports FMU and a Apexi AFC also no MAP sensor or emission can smoke the tires though third gear no problem. We are adding a custom fule rail and intake manifold this winter to include a Quaife LSD, stage 3 ACT clutch, custom flywheel. car only runs on 100 Sunoco race gas. I would predict that I'm in the low 200 on whp and close to low mid 200 in wheel torque.:)

Well my understanding I'dunning at 6psi. He will be installing a custom exhaust system. He felt that would definitely put me at 170hp. Noture about the adj cam gears and intake/exhaust cam shafts tat I have in the car now, but I feel it would probably add another 10 hp max, but then I'm new to the turbo game. When I called tripoint and SR motorsports about the parts they felt that it would defintely add and hold up, they weren't sure how much. Well I guess we will find out on Jan 17, thats when my car should be ready and I will let you know.

i had the exact concerns...reliability (daily driver and kid toting mobile and weekend road track racer, (not autox...20 minutes of sustained WOT sessions)...it took me several months (fm kit was on my list as they had their kit out longer than the rest and looking at the parts looked the best until I contacted Andy about building a kit...I went up to meet him and saw several other cars he was doing and walked away sold

up to date status is...the car has had 8k miles put on it since...clutch was the only thing replaced (i had the mazda oem clutch/flywheel chatter problem that most others had...mazda won't recall the car for the problem)...it has been to 8 days of road race courses (VIR and Summit Point) and has held up well included with daily driving...after finally getting dyno time we are at 176 whp and 196 w lb ft tq...that is a lot of power even though i'm running only 7lbs
