Anyone got over 493 miles on a tank yet?

without my CAI i would totally pack the tank, and the fuel before next fill up reads sometimes as high as 410. I usually got around 350-370 a tank normal 70-75 highway driving per tank if i dont rail on it. ill let you know how well the CAI adds to the fuel economy in a few weeks after a few fill ups and the computer adjusts.

CAI helps economy?

Sure, a more efficient intake reduces pumping losses, so as long as you don't supplement the engine with additional fuel/air via your right foot (which the computer interprets, of course!), you'd save fuel. Backpressure = the enemy of turbo efficiency, and so too with pumping intake losses.

431 on a n/a 2.3l with the simota cf sri all highway at around 70-75 depending on how long i was on the mass pike (cops patrol the hell outa that thing) it was a long time ago but it did feel good... though a lil scary when i put 13.3gallons or so into it.

Just filled up yesterday. Low light had been on a few miles and the needle was past E. I put in 12.8 gallons and got 312 miles out of it which comes out to 24.4 mph. That bothers me a little seeing how I reset my mpg on the trip computer when I started the 312 miles and it read 26.x. Seems like its about 2 mpg off. I reset it again this tank so we'll see if its still off when I go to fill up again.

I definitely got about 1-2 mpg better with the MS CAI. But as far as the trip computer, it is completely useless. Last tank it said I got 27.8 mpg but when I did the math it came out to 24.4 mpg. I am happy with that as I got around 310 miles on that tank.

im going to be no help as far as trying to go easy on the car to get the most amount of miles on a tank. i cant take it. i have to drive fast. i own a sports car, gimme a break. i deem myself usless in this category. (drive2)

hehehe i couldnt say since ive bought the car ive only ever had 320 mpg am too busy showing it off to my m8s i can tget over the speed of this thing lol

...My current tank of gas is winding down--the trip odometer is pushing 330, and I have roughly 1/8 tank left.

-mostly highway driving
-light to moderate a/c use
-very spirited driving
-Sunoco 87 gas

if you guys are getting over 300 miles to the tank, then you are not enjoying your car nearly as much as I am. 240 is my best.

(uhm)...check my sig.

I've been driving mine for 11 months and just turned 10k very spirited miles....and with each passing mile, fuel economy incrementally improves.

The final numbers for my most recent tank were 355 miles on 12.55 gallons (28.28 mpg)

Yep, the mpg on the trip computer is garbage. Its not even consistenly off. Sometimes its off about 1.5 mpg and just yesterday it was off 3.2 mpg. But it always reads high. Guess the engineers at Mazda just want you to feel good about your mileage ;) I make sure to reset the trip computer and the trip odometer every time I fill up so I know I'm not messing up the numbers.

Oh well. I've been getting anywhere from 270 miles to 320 miles per tank. I usually fill up right around when the low fuel light come on which is about after 12.8-12.9 gallons.

I went from the consistant low 20's in mpg when I got the car. To my last tank of gas giving me a 29 mpg average. This car is like a fine wine...

Just got the car yesterday and filled up today with 11.053 gallons at 279.8miles for an average of 25.3mpg. The trip computer tells me that it is expecting 401 miles on this tank...i dont think so.

Best I've had so far is 557 on a tank; averaging around 500. Shell 91 V-Power. I've noticed consistently lower numbers with Sunoco Ultra 94 (ie 475/tank).

I've gotten 320 on a tank. I do most highway driving though and really don't goose the car that much off the line. I came from a Ford F150 to the M3...I will never go back to a truck......that is until someone can make a hybrid truck.
