anyone ever scotch gaurd their cloth seats?

i bought my CX w/ cloth black seats. my last 3 cars were leather and decided i'd try cloth this time around, i don't mind them at all, especiallly since they're black. i asked mazda if they were treated w/ some kind of stain resistant. they said no. i'm thinking about spraying them w/ scotch gaurd. anyone do this, and is there anything i need to know before doing it?

I would just spray an out of the way area to make sure the color doesn't run (unlikely that it will) before spraying the entire seat.

Sprayed the beige seats in my wifes last Accord. It worked well, easy to do and it helped with spills.

Done It When I Got My CX Detailed (with Perma Plate).
