Anyone ever install cruise control?

I got 31.6 mpg on my last tank that was about 90% highway. I think I would do better with cruise. Any options that have worked well?

I've considered this as well.. thought about swapping over the cruise from my P5 lol.

From what I understand, You can't have the front strut bar with cruise control. Or you would at least have to fab up a custom install for it maybe if you wanted to keep the strut bar.

By the way, didn't they do tests and discover for gas mileage, cruise is worse?

I think it depends on the terrain. It helps in flat lands but is worse in the mountains/hills.

I would think that is the same, but I usually do the throttle input myself on vertical ascents...

It's a setup a local shop installed. No idea if it's a readily available as I have no idea what brand it was...

So does the P5 setup transfer over easily?

The P5 strut bar I assume bolts right up. Where does the cruise control box mount? Do I need a P5 throttle bracket to hook the cruise cable up to? How does it hook into the VSS/computer? Does the P5 steering wheel with the buttons transfer over directly?

Everythign transfers over, you need a pretty extensive list of parts though. IE make sure whatever used setup you buy is COMPLETE.

a MSP guy wants to buy the curise control setup off my p5, I'd sell it to him, I just don't know all he'll need.

Honestly, that's pretty good gas mileage though. I don't think you'll see huge gains with cruise control.

I too was curious about adding cruise too mine. Not necessarily for the mileage only, even though, I do believe that it helps on flatter terrain, but if nothing else to ease the numbness in my foot after a 3 hour trip!

I was gonna swap mine from the P5, but it is sooo nice having all that extra space back there. Forget cruise.. the P5 can keep it

I retract my last statement.. I think I may end up swapping it lol. I'm looking at a 2000 mile trip this summer (Iowa to Oregon) and it would be mighty nice to have cruise.

Can I swap cruise off my auto P5 onto the MP3? I know there is a clutch switch involved on manual models so I assume that will be an issue. If anyone has done this install, please post some info.
