*Note about having a short ram intake, if you have your short ram located behind where your fan is it can make your car run lean at idle, I have pulled a cel before from that cause, most common to see this if you have a K&N. By pulling in air that is warmer than usual can cause engine to run lean. If you ever expirence this problem you may want to look into that. Yes I agree with having a short ram intake to avoid hydrolocking, if you decide to get a sri look for one that is closest to where your stock air box to avoid a cel.

yeah thats why i didnt go with an sri. like really i dont have to worry that much about hydrolocking cuz i made a watersheild. it is made of thin sheet metal and it works fine. i also am going to put another sheet where the wheel well's air vent is on the driver side. it seems if you get an sr or cai theres bound to be problems... plus it would be dumb to drive through 3 feet of water, its a mazda not a jeep lol

in all my years of modding cars and intakes, ive never ever heard of this. but his reasoning dont make sense to me...

on a really hot day, any cai or sri is going to be pulling in air "warmer than usual".
