Anyone done AEM -> SRI conversion?

I did this today. Put an apexi filter directly after the MAF, but the coolant bottle is nudging against the filter. Does anyone else have a setup like this that can give some advice? Also, there is not really anything supporting the intake, and the filter seems to just be resting on the frame of the car, where the stock intake bracket used to be.

I looked at doing it and didn't for the reasons you listed. You'll have to fabricate some kind of support for it. Is there enough room to relocate the coolant bottle to its original spot and clamp the filter onto the MAF? I forget.

Another option would be to saw off some of the part of the intake tube that attaches to the filter to get the filter over near the hole in the fender where you snake the tube down normally. I know people have done this with the Injen, but not sure about AEM.

I went for the Perrin SRI instead. Of course, I wish I didn't, because the car runs awful with it.

You mean the silicone connector on the turbo supported the whole intake? You got a pic of what your setup looks like?

Sorry no pics. I had to change it a bit since my fmic install.
Check the spool fmic thread in the msp fi section for the latest pics.

I have been running this SRI conversion for a while now.

I did this soon after I did some intake manifold modifications, and I have been having stalling issues that I thought were part of the changes made to the IM. I finally realized I had a vacuum leak and fixing that fixed some problems my engine was having.

However, my car stills drops to very low rpm when disengaging the clutch(almost stalls, then idle evens out), and I think this is from the sri. Is there anyone that has done this conversion that experiences the same thing? I am only running the stock BPV btw.

I modified an AEM N/a SRI to work on my car. It is held up by the Air duct box. Here is an old pic:

Interesting airbox, what is it made out of? I'm confused though, what is the purpose of the upper part of it, if the top is closed off by a CF plate. Is the intake hole on the bottom?

Any idea what to do about the stalling issue? I guess it is not that big of a deal, it never really stalls, just bothers me that it frequently comes very close. I think it has something to do with the bpv venting into such a small pipe, doing seomthing weird with turbulence and MAF readings. I see you have a bov though, so it probably doesn't relate.

he has the DGM "ram air" hood

The box is actually a CF material. I thought it was plastic till I cut into it. The upper part of it is a water/debris shield. There is actually about a 1" gap at the back, and the cold air from outside goes into the box and swirls around the filter, while most of the water goes out holes in the bottom of the box. Great setup. The almost stalling is part of modifying an intake that has an MAF. You are probably getting a temporary rich condition going down to idle. Mine does it if I rev it up and then just let it drop to idle, but it never stalls.
