I am fairly new to this board so mayby this is old but I don't think I heard anybody talk about a chip. Is there none or doesn't it work or am I being an idiot???.
O.K O.K. I allready new that! :p :p :p

I haven't seen anything massproduced for the stock set up yet, but if I do I would definitely publicise it ASAP.

I had to laugh while reading this post....so funny. Sounds like something that can be repeated while talking to Audi and VW 1.8t fanatics since that car needs a chip and benefits the most gain from a chip more than any other car produced.

Corksport is supposedly making a Chip for Protege Owners with the FS-ZE Engine that are using the Stock ECU (U.S.-Spec). The chip is supposed iron out any inefficiencies from the differences. It supposedly is supposed to be out within a month. People should start calling them to get the demand curve up so that they will get this thing out! Some have been waiting a year for the chip.

same here.
I am still wainting if anyone want to make them.... anyone? chip? chip?.... pls
well here some story, the best thing to have chip is when you drive a turbo car. I got 996 and i put GIAC chip for $ 995, adds 23 ponies to engine. My freinds put the same brand chip for $ 599 to his '99 GTI golf 1.8T. In dayno the GTI horse power jump from 123hp to 179hp at the wheels, this means there are atleast 205 hp at the engine.
....remember his running his car at 21 psi.
KO-3 turbo Rock!!!!!, check www.vwvortex.com for vw chip

NOPI has the following PCM- but I am guessing this is geared towards stock Proteges. Maybe the same thing as the MP3's stock PCM?
Contrl Modul, JET - V-Force Power Control Module - w/o Turbo - 20mhz RISC microprocessor optimizes the ignition spark advance and recalibrates the fuel map for optimum horsepower and acceleration
Part Number : 354+0238
Year : 2001
Make : MAZDA
Model : Protege
Weight : 16 oz.
Core Price : 0
Price:$203.45

i thought that all proteges couldnt get a chip in the system since it already has a little factory chip in the system that could be adjusted easily?????
