Anybody tried this: motor mounts

Going crazy with the way my car is in traffic (I have a 150 mile commute-half of the time is bumper to bumper)

So, last night put a piece of wooden dowel in the front part of the #3 mount and jammed a cork in the rear. Made a slight difference. What I'm thinking of doing is use some phenol or some other hard material to make inserts and then fill in the rest of the gaps in with window weld. I'm going to try this on the #3 and the front mount. I need to get a better look at the tranny mount and see what can be done there. If I can get to the rear one I'll do that one also.

what are you trying to achieve out of doing that to your mounts? Im guessing for bumper to bumper u want the movement of the engine to go away and going from a stop to be smoother?
i hate stop and go especialyl with my awr motor mounts, around 1000-1500 rpm the rattle inside the car is very annoying but it takes off alot smoother, i just keep the rpms above 1500 when i stop for a short time.

do a search for window weld. a few people have use that to fill in their mounts. I might do the same unless someone releases new mounts for next to the engine #3 and ??

I've been reading up on the mounts, though it seems like the window weld needs alot of time to dry-when you use alot of it( ie large holes in mounts), and this is my only transportation as of now. I saw that AWR *Might* be making the other two mounts, but I haven't seen anything recent about it. The window weld is the least expensive, which is the best for now. I was just thinking that the less WW used, the quicker the drying time and possibly a tighter mount.

I wish you could get the AWR's with a lower durometer polyurethane, so the vibration wouldn't be as bad.

Yes, my commute SUCKS. Less than 20 minutes from PA (in MD) driving to the nations capital-and I do mean the Capital-1 block away from it! It's 150 BOTH ways though, and the morning is only an hour.
