Yea, that was weird. I bought my 2014 in early March of 2014. The 2015's were on the lot about 3-4 weeks later. It was surprising to see the new models so soon. Maybe that's why I got a good price. They had maybe 10 2014's to move out. Back then, locally, I only saw about a half dozen CX-5's at the time. Their popularity has definitely increased with my seeing roughly the same amount of gen 1 as gen 2 CX-5's these days. Otherwise, it seems like "everybody" drives a RAV 4 or a CRV. The place is crawling with them. Those were strange times indeed for Mazda. The 2013 CX-5 was released in May, 2012 and they spent the next 3 years dealing in half year updates and trying to rationalize their model years. Those days are long gone and Mazda pretty much keeps to a more traditional mid-fall model year update these days.
