Anybody here mod car with automatic transmission?

I 'm a auto user too :)
I don't really care the performances but, I always get dissappointed when I accelerate.
oh well...I'm a liar I do care about performances. :D

Hey ... new pic !

And yeah, if it wasn't for the sport-shift i would be absolutely disappointed in the car's power. As it is, when the ego-trip hits, I drop a gear and punch it.

Yep

I have a Sportshift auto also. I got it because I never learned how to drive a stick. Everytime one of my friends tried to teach me in empty parking lots... The cops would show up & tell us to leave. :wtf: SO since this is my only means of transportation & I have tendonitis in my left knee I got the Sportshift auto.
Now though I wish I had gotten the 5spd, a pack of frozen peas (to ice knee), some motrin, tiger balm & just did the damn thang...

As far as racing goes the manual only really comes into play when road course/AutoXing. In drag racing alot of people use the Autos which can be made faster than the manuals.

And yes the sport shift is the chit!!! Gives you the comfort of the auto for everyday driving, plus allows you the track control of a manual for the weekends.

hehe and have done the relining by accident not realizing it was in the sport shift. Car doesn't like it

the mods are noticeable on an auto p5.. but not that big of a difference though even with the Reactive Intake and the MazdaSpeed Exhaust

.... but just dont ride one trying to pose like its a stick =D

Actually I used to manually shift an auto Civic b/c I wanted to be in more control of the car.

I learned to heel and toe downshift in that car, and left foot brake.

With my manual P5, that manual shifting an auto has helped me heel and toe, double declutch.... much easier.

Now when I sit in an auto tranny car, it just feels really weird.

Actually, I have Auto-Auto, not Sport-Auto :P

that's why I'm wondering..some people say having exahust on an Auto-Auto is annoying because Auto-Auto makes smooth shifting, so all you hear is hummm.....hummm....all the way :P

Though, I guess it'll probably end of being just look than performance.

wow, seem like almost everyone here with the auto-stick has an Intake as their first mods! why am I not suprise hahah my blue injen is on the way =)

Jliao, have you received delivery confirmation date yet for your injen order?
I installed mine yesterday and it sounds and looks really great!!!
Injen's installation instuction even says disconnect negative battery terminal before installation, to reset ECU.
(outie)(drive) (first)

I dont know what u guys are talking about regarding modding an auto...I have a cat back, filter and pulley and premium fuel (a must) and i can definately feel the power after 3k...so much so that i can put it to most people on the road.....save the porsches, corvettes and other sporters. I have owned many powerful vehicles...Benz 450slc, Alfa 164l, Buick 3.3l (all autos) and although the modded pro5 isnt blistering it can take most people off the line....after that well...............that depends on if its a SI or a WRX

My auto can go like hell. its not hard to get the wheels spinning at a light, but i still need more. How much was the Unorthodox Racing Main Pulley? is it easy to install? Does anyone out there have any info on what are the best headers ?

well the pulley is $200+ with about $200 in installation and new belts. In regards to headers nopi has one for like $180 that is a ceramic 4-1 header..anything is better than that damn preconvertor wedged up next to the manifold..I am actually looking to modify my header or replace it but you MUST have a hi-flow cat /preconvertor for the o2 sensors...$400 to rebuild with hi-flow cat or $600 for new header and cat and labor...i am kinda hestitant though cause of the cats and o2 sensors so i am waiting on that.
www.nopi.com for the header and other parts
u might not have the extra cat cause u r in canada if not dont worry about it there is better things like cams...hmmmmmm(hmm)

I have a auto and I am building as more of a auto x racer more than a straight line racer. With current mods my car does pretty well. I want to go turbo but I am hesitant because of the tranny so I have still alot of researching to do and figure out whether its worth or just to say screw it and sell the coilovers. I will be making my decision soon though.

You know whats funny? Everytime I have a chick in the car, they ask why do I have a + and - signs on my shifter? When I tell them I can shift up and down manually...they are like "NO WAY!!!...so its a manual? Nope...its an automatic just I can do that. "I've only heard them on really expensive cars." I'm like yeah exactly:o They get really impressed:D And then they go find out that its just an economy car:p
