Any Way to Limit Boost for Daily Driveability?

running lean isnt going to hurt the car as much as the spark advance will. i know some boosted friends of mine running 17afrs and everyday driving. timing is set up perfect, great gas milage. using an oscillo scope to moniter detonation. i wouldnt trust eco mode on a programmer because the timing advance with hotter cylinder temps could cause problems. i'd like to see the car on a lab scope with that tune.

Are you joking? Here is the factory spec. for torque:

Torque: 280 ft/lbs @ 3000 RPM

touche salesman. eitherway...all those ideas including mine are stupid. just drive your car and if you want better mileage dont push the car.... or you could literally push your car. i dont care.

The Waste gate spring?

Minimum boost is ~10 PSI.
I had not considered the mechanical portion. I recently drove a highway home for about 40 miles. 65-70 gentle hills and very little to no acceleration. I was seeing about 27 avg before i got back into stop and go. not bad i thought considering.

boost controllers only increase the amount of boost you run.

Just to clarify, the above statement is not true!

You can use both a Manual boost controller or anelectronic boost controller to both raise or lower the boost pressure. When you install a boost controller you are essentially taking control of the boost away from the ECU.

Exp: stock boost is say 15psi....you install a TMIC and DP and boost is now spiking to 18psi......you can use a MBC or EBC to lower it back down to 15psi.

The only thing you cannot do is go lower than waste-gate spring will allow.....If the waste-gate spring will hold boost at 10PSI that is your low limit.
