just got back from vacation and found out my dog got a foot
infection. His front paw is swollen and he already saw a vet.
they shaved his toes a little and its red and a little pussy.
any thoughts and advice? I tried putting epson salt on a warm
wrag on the paw but he wents psycho. He doesn't move much
either.

vet doesn't know what happened. said it might be a bite but
he'd never seen any that looks like what he has.

thanks for any advice.

dunno maybe some of those peroxide wipes, thats what i used to clean the cuts my dog had. i also put some gauze around it so it would not get infected. id say take him/her to a dif vet. he surely has an infection. they will proly have to remove the scab and really clean out the infected area.

is his nose dry? when the nose is dry it a bad sign.. thats all i remember from tlakin to the vet. LoL

heh has he taken a piss yet? i was told if the dog doesnt take a wiss its also a bad sign.

hasn't taken a piss for 4 hours so far. He did get tranquilized at the vet and I know
it makes him groggy for a long time. We got antibacteria pills, but if it looks worse
I'll take him to another vet tomorrow. He definitely can't put any pressure on it.

good luck guy. i know how you feel. i had to wait 6hrs before i could take my dog to the vet. longest 6hrs of my life.

the doggy is so cute. -=\ the one in the pics rite?
good thing is. he coulda got bitten by a spider or stepped on somehting.. and it just pussed up.. there are even some weeds that will do taht to you.. dont worry.. just pat his head.. an make him feel loved.. it will be all good

take him to the vet as soon as you can. Most likely its some kind of bite, probaly a spider bite. Just keep a warm towel wrapped around it, until you take him to the vet. And whatever you do, keep him responsive. If he starts to seem reall drousy or just acting like he doesnt want to do anything take him to the emergency vet. hopefully everything will work out for you.

im a tech =).. um i seen that before on a very old dog.. he was allergic to spiders and got bitten by one. yer dog might have gotten bitten by something and had an allergic reaction. how old is your dog?

he's 4 1/2 now. His paw is better. He can walk around a bit more and
the swellings down a little now. he's eating and drinking too so its just
waiting for it to heal now.
