Any photographers in here?

WWII planes are my favorite! Great shots. The last one is awesome with all the people crowded around.

And FWIW, the F4U Corsair is my favorite WWII fighter. Probably mostly due to the show Black Sheep Squadron :)

I think it would've been better if he zoomed out a bit to actually let us see more of the plane's propellers. This shot feels like he was pointing out someone to us that's in that crowd. Man..I wanna hit up a decent air show this year here near my city.

A B17 flew directly over my school the other day, wish I had had my camera with me. I need to get to an air show again at some point.

that would be cool to see. i occasionally see chinooks and a10's fly over my work. maybe less now that they are closing one of the air bases.

Good call and thanks for the advise... now that you mention it, I agree a wider shot would have been a bit better. I wanted the shallow DoF with the Mustang in focus (and the center point of the photo) but I see how it also worked against me. Had there been a child there or something, I would have focused on him/her and done the clich "child at an airshow" shot

Another one from the same shoot a week ago.

I love this shot the best. The circle and sparks draw my eye in initially, and then to the tree, and then I find myself staring at the stars in the sky. I love the composition, but the noise in the shot kind of detracts a bit. However, I can understand to try and get a shot like this one. I am still loving it and amazed by it. Very well done!

The bridge underpass is really a close second. That is amazing!

Well I only posted that one since its been getting quite a bit of attention on Flickr. I was headed for the beach to take photos of it, but traffic came to a standstill about 1.5 miles inland while I was crossing the rivers. I was watching it take off on my iPhone and decided to get out and watch it anyways and see what I could get. I knew it had to turn around to go back north up the beach, so I had a 50/50 shot of it coming my direction since I planned to be abeam where they were scheduled to make the 180... I won the lottery on that one (though I didn't have time to really get my camera set up):
