Any photographers in here?

it's still an automatic mode, and you're still going to underexpose photos unless you change the exposure compensation. If you're using any of the auto modes (Av and Tv included), you need to know how exposure compensation works.

true, but if he's working in a mode where he can alter settings which effect the exposure length, he'll start to pick up on what moving various settings does

If I had the first idea how to shoot a nikon I'd try to go into that, but, I'm nikon retarded!

Hello, my name is Josh and I am a professional photographer because I bought a digital camera.

TIP 1 How to become a professional photographer
Buy a digital camera.

TIP 2 Tricks of the trade
Have a look on the camera, somewhere, probably on the top or back or somewhere on the front or sides there will be a button or dial marked 'A', this does not stand for 'Automatic' as some amateurs think but 'Awesome'. Leave it on this all the time.

TIP 3 Photography courses
There is no need for even a basic photography course because once you buy a digital camera you will be a professional photographer like me. Not as good as me though.

TIP 4 Lighting
You will need some light otherwise the photos will come out a bit too dark. Usually you can fix them in photoshop but some light to begin with is good.

TIP 5 Subject Matter
Yes, it does. Dont take photos of girls leaving the high school from your car as the fine is $360.00 and a years probation.

(rofl2) So that is what that means?!

Words to live by, right there!

Love Grand-AM! Here are my photos from last year. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...d-AM-at-Lime-Rock-Park-2010-Photos-amp-Videos

I spent quite a few weekends at MidOhio last year, one being the Grand Am weekend. For Grand Am, my automotive photography skills were still noobish (and they still are...) but I found the spots were no fences block the way and such. This year I expect far better results, but still nothing like yours! Of course, I'm using a Canon Rebel XS with a $100 Tamron 70-300 lens...

Here is a spot I found without a fence in the way:

Edit: Not sure I will make it all the way to Lime Rock with the Ohio Guys, but I am planning on VIR and a few others if you are there with the NEPOC gang, I'd love a few tips!
