Any photographers in here?

question for everyone.
My T2i came with a 55-250mm f/4-5.6 lens which cost me an extra $10 with the deal they were running. Is it something worth keeping or should I put it up on ebay and drop the overall price paid for my camera to around $580? Or use money from that lens to buy some car/photo stuff?

Im not sure how often ill need the telephoto and if that one is even that good.

as far as budget telephotos go, thats a great lens to have. I have the sigma 70-300, and other than its macro mode being fun to play with sometimes, the 55-250 would be great. If you have no plans to shoot anything at long distance, then sell it, but basically if you shoot outdoors, I'd hold onto it.

It's a great lens to learn on. No sense in selling it, because it's worth more keeping it in your bag than it is on ebay. Congrats on the new rig!

I have that lens. I'm not really a fan of it. It's good for taking pictures of birds on a feeder, but god help you if they are moving. Its not very fast. I also found the sharpness to be lacking, but I'm probably spoiled on the 50mm f1.8. But hey, you can't go wrong for $10 right?

Messing with my dog and bokeh last night...

You can't really shoot tight on birds at less than f/5.6 anyway, because the DoF becomes too small, and the photo starts looking too blurry... Now, if you're shooting and then cropping, you might be able to get away with it.

^♪2 of these things are not like the others♪^

But seriously, I think that bottom right waterfall either needs to be totally motion blurred, or not at all. Probably not at all because that would go along with the rest of the overall picture. Also, the domesticated window in the top middle throws a lot off for me as well
