Any photographers in here?

looks sharp. what are the f/stop(s) on that lens...? and what body are you using?

funky, cool shots! you are good at choosing locations for you subjects. what are you using for the light trails?

LED bulbs tucked into shoelaces. These are just test shots for an art project coming up in December. The venue was a nightclub that we got hooked up with.

LOL, Actually I had a lil Rob Zombie in my head, Sweet Pics Lara,

Hey Funky, What F-stop did u set your lens to for the Effect with the flash?

i'd also just say give more thought about the focal point of the shot when you are framing it...

Zach, you'll get the feeling of this thread... A good way to introduce yourself to the thread might be to post a collection of images that you feel are (a) of particular interest to the site (Mazdas or other cars), and/or (b) indicative of the style of photography and skills that you have developed.

For example, I am interested in the portrait style showcased on your site: shallow DoF, selective focus, out of focus, color cross-processing and desaturation. Are those images part of a particular portrait study or just ongoing collection of work? What equipment do you use to achieve that look?

honestly guys, how the hell do u guys takes shot like that? do u mess with photoshop after?

How did you fire the strobe for that last moment action stop?

It's all timing on your part plus I use Cybersync wireless triggers. You leave the camera in bulb mode, so you can open the shutter for however long you want. Then they do their thing. At the end of the set, they remain still, I trigger the flash by hand with a remote trigger, then i close the shutter.

I used a cable release. YOu should get one for your camera too..so you don't have to hold the shutter button down during all that time. The exposures on these ranged from 10 to 20 seconds.

So this was done in a completely dark room so you don't get weird light. For focusing, I used a Canon ST-E2 Infrared trigger. Although it's not triggering anything, it emitts that AF assist light so I can autofocus in the dark. YOu can also use any canon flash that emits that red beam.

If you shoot Nikon, you can use CLS, or pocketwizards.

yeah, i've posted up several small sets here before.... i'm happy to put up more.

i guess you found my website! thanks for checking it out. the portraits are an ongoing collection, except for the "sanford" section. he died of MS recently, but i shot him a few times a year up until his death. most of the portraits are shot on 35mm film using a late '60s minolta srt101 with a 58mm f/1.2. i have only more recently added shots taken with a canon 5D.

I figured you fired manually by hand. I have a wireless remote for my camera that just trips the shutter. Really nice, I love it. I need to try some more light painting photo's.

My "light painting" experiment. Used a simple LED flashlight in a dark room. Just my P&S camera. ;)
