Any photographers in here?

I think I remember that.. didn't it get pretty heated?
anyway, I've already read two How Too's so I think I actually know what I'd be getting into, so you'll be seeing no questions from me, only pictures when/if I get it done.

It's not about questions. Just seems like you've been waiting forever to go get something to process your photos. Just always wondered when you were gonna get something decent to compliment your photos.

And yea..anything with HDR gets pretty heated. What I do with HDR photos is, I put them together in PHotomatix, (make sure you read what each slider does), then I do more post work in Photoshop. I also have one "reference" picture that I use in case I need to mask selective areas and such and sharpen only a part of the photo or correct exposure etc. So in all, I'm working with 6 or 7 photos and even more layers to create a scene.

Sounds like some guys need some help in the lightning department. I'll post a detailed "how-to" on shooting lightning for my next blog. Should help a lot of you out as I see a lot of "maybe's" and misconceptions being posted here. As soon as I have it up I'll be sure to post a link here for it. I will make it as detailed and simple as possible, like my HDR tutorial. Click on the link in my signature to go to my website, the click the link to my blog to read it. Here's the lightning shots I got about a month ago when I was down in Florida.

Those are totally badass, and I will wait for your tutorial. I also need a bit of help in that department. I haven't shot lightning in a long time so I need a refresher.

For those patiently waiting for Jon to post his tutorial up, just a simple search on google brings this...

Seems solid, seems legit, so go try it out and post some pics of your results here :)

film is fun, but too much $ when you have as many "just kidding" shots as I do. My friend only shoots in film and he's developed some of the best shots I've ever seen....I guess I'm just not talented enough for film, haha.
yeah... film gets expensive

I like taking 35mm pics too!

this is my gf and my other camera:

I was thinking about buying an FD adapter, but I keep reading that they degrade the image, and an EF 50mm f1.8 is only 100 bucks or so anyway... That aperture is SWEET though.

Depends on what you're trying to capture... I think it looks fine, but if you want rotor blur, you're gonna have to go much slower

I've been busy lately...thought I'd post these to see what you all think. I've been taking product shots for some of our clients lately and turning them into a interactive flash 360. Here are 3 I did yesterday (Not 100% complete yet)...thoughts?

Candy Box
Candy Piece 1
Candy Piece 2

I think props and helis look unnatural without rotor blur. I've never taken a picture of either until yesterday though, so I guess I just need practice.

the files take too long to load... and I have a metro E connection.

that being said, my mouth literally started watering when I saw the one with nuts on top. nice work.

I think its cool...(cool)

are you going to do all of their candies?

ya i know that they are big now....they will be reduced in the future once they go on the web....Basically they are going to be shown to the client for demonstration purposes for now.

if is for full frame so you will have the 1.6x(correct??) crop factor on it. so it would be an 80mm f/1.8 if my factor is the right one.

I have a manual one and besides for a small stick in the focus its pretty nice.

I would suggest getting the 85mm 1.8 for portraiture. What I find w/ the 50mm is that I'm having to step too close to the person. I just sold my 50mm actually.

have any of you guys tried any of these lens rental sites?

60 bucks to rent a 100-400L for a week seems like a pretty sweet deal.
