Any photographers in here?

I was going to make a thread but most of the threads in this section seem to be car related photography. I didn't even notice that there was a photography section of this board until yesterday. Wow, I feel silly. I'll be stopping in here quite a bit.

So... here are a few pics I took around Paris. All photos are completely unedited and I'm still learning so be somewhat nice lol

The weather wasn't perfect so a lot of the shots are moody and dark but there were a few bright, gorgeous days mixed in. I was lucky enough to be there for well over a week so a day of rain really didn't bother me much.

Time to go home

Well I'm in Vegas now, we already went to the Hoover Dam, got some pretty cool shots there, might go back out next week, cause it was just a quick stop. I'll upload pics as soon as I can. The internet isn't exactly working right yet in the Hotel, so I can't upload pics yet. I MIGHT be going on a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon and then the Strip in the same flight next week. I hoping to get on a ride in the evening, the sun is less harsh, then by the time we get to the Strip it would be dark.

JennB: the shot of the metro tunnel is sick, i love the composition! i need to go to Europe - f-that i just need to get out of miami to take pictures! i guess i gotta wait till my trip to ME and to MA in august

Funkybudha: the first picture reminds me of one of Van Gogh's paintings

Thanks guys.

323 - No..they're all one exposure. I just metered for the sky so that it's not overexposed. Then used flash to light up the foreground when necessary.

Hollywood - thanks man. Ya..there were some funky cloud formations that day/night. A storm was rolling in. It was cool. I never get to see clouds form like that in the city.

JennB: awesome pictures. I like the one with all the windows of the building.

i like in the first one how the division betweeen light and dark in the sky meets up with the division between land and sea, its very pro sailor

Dad's new toy... What a freakin HOOT to drive - 436BHP is kind of a lot...

Is there a chance someone would be willing to put a lomo effect on the bigger version of that picture (and maybe a larger one in the future) for me? I only have photoshop elements 4 and can't really go through all the motions. I just wanted to see what it would look like.

JennB - That's a set to be proud of. Traveling to a new city can be a challenge due to your relative lack of knowledge of the area, but also an asset since you see everything with new eyes and from a fresh perspective. I think you used that to your advantage in Paris. What kind of equipment are you using?

Here's my brother just moments after high school graduation with my parents:

I used a little highpass overlay in post which today I see is a bit strong. I'm still happy with the end result however.

Great pics! You have a good eye for structure.

I spend most of my time on automotive photography. Sure, I take about 1,000-1,500 photos every time I travel but since I attend some sort of automotive event just about every weekend, it's where I do most of my shooting.

Some examples:

Took this just a couple of days ago

Thanks!

Hahaha. I'll answer your PM in a few, work is busy and I'm sneaking posts in between actual responsibilities. I'll have to post my Flickr link and hopefully acquire some new Flickr Friends.

What lens? They seem a little soft at the longer focal length, so I'm guessing a 70-300 f/4.0-5.6. Next mod - 70-200 f/2.8 IS :)

Nothing fancy here. Was driving by this new condo/apt place being built and thought it was a cool spot for some quick pics.
