Any photographers in here?

gr? -bow down- nice wideangles with the polarizer.

what do you use to edit your photos if you dont mind me asking. photoshop? they look so vivid. i know they're not spose to come out the camera looking like that. i gots a canon 350d

Thanks.

I'm using CS2 Bridge to convert the RAW file to JPG. Once converted to JPG, as I mentioned, all I did was a contrast +3 adjustment. The image quality from the 5D blows away my 1D MKII and 20D; I could never get both the highlight and shadows with this type of detail.

ahh 5d hehe. what kind of off camera lighting do you use in the shots you do for the miata? i just sorta got hooked on how dope the lighting looks and now i need more than just my 430ex speedlite 0_o

cars + photography = pricey hobbies

Usually 3 flashes: 1 left, 1 right, 1 center (430EX, 420EX, 580EX). I have an Alien Bee B800 but I rarely use it.

I have a 580EX to trigger them but I just bought an ST-E2 so I'll get more creative with the lighting since it's easier to control the power between Group A & Group B right on the ST-E2 (ie 1/4 power left, 1/2 power right)

How does this look?

i actually just ordered some to toy with :)

Ya sweet. Then you can find cheap used flashes to play with. Instead of having to buy 3 x 580EX's at like 400 bux a piece. You can find old Vivitar flashes for like 50 or 60 bux.

ebay. get the cactus v2 transmitter and receivers. then you can use any type of flash you want.

yeah except for one big difference you have no way to control it like that thing

the cactus is fine for firing them at the same time but if your trying to setup different flashes at different intervals its not possible

I have the ebay triggers and they're not reliable until you do the battery and antennae mod.

Plus, in some situations, you don't have time to manually adjust the power on each flash. This is the benefit of ETTL (when lighting is not constant).

what do you mean antenna and battery mod? I haven't seen anything on that

do you have the version 1 or the version 2 ones? the version 2 is supposed to work better with the canon speedlights apparently

I have the version 2's. And I haven't any problems with them as of yet. I just keep a fresh battery in there and make sure my flashes are fresh as well. I usually mess with manual mode on my flashes anyways, so I barely use TTL. If I do encounter a situation where I'd need more control, then yea, I'd upgrade. But now, it's not needed for what I use them for.

People have gone to radio shack and gotten a AA battery pack and wired it to make it work w/ the receivers. And you get a small external antenna and attach it to the transmitter but that involves a bit of drilling and saughtering i think.

i have the V2s triggers and they work fine with my 430ex.

some of them pick up the transmitter signal way better then others too. I even did the AA battery mod

So I'm looking for a wide-angle lens, and narrowed it down to 3 choices:

The Tokina 12-24:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)
The Sigma 10-20:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)
The Tamron 11-18:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)

These three are all in the same price range and relatively the same zoom. My problem is deciding which one to choose, because I haven't really heard any negative reviews on any of these lenses. The Tamron would be the cheapest with a $75 rebate too. Could someone please help me out?

i will throw some up i just recently finished editing, i have a bigger hard drive on order and need to re-organize all my folders between car pics and my "artsy" shots i have 68gigs and counting of pics so far, i have allot up on photobucket i will throw some in here every once in a while to get some input from people....
