Any photographers in here?

I love clouds. I don't have much of a view from my house, but here's some pics I took last night as a thunderstorm came through. Of course a little PP was added for effect.

are u using a fullframe? if not i always preferred a starting focal point of 17 or 18mm. always came in useful indoors. other than that, i heard its a fine lens

i'm about to drop the dough on the canon 24-70 f2.8L. thoughts?

Its a great lens....heavy and pricey but produces some great images...I was going to get that also but i decided to try a few other lenses first...the sigma 24-70 2.8 and i just got a 17-55 2.8IS. I'm happy with both of these but I'm a lens junkie so I might cross paths with a 24-70 someday.

I'm still a newb to all the lenses. Can you suggest a good cheap macro lens for a Canon Rebel? My cousin has a Sigma lens that came with her camera and it has Macro, but neither of my lenses i currently have are Macro.

Here's a couple photos from my hike up Talcott Mountain (Simsbury, CT) yesterday with my mother and father. It had just down-poured... so the sky was a <sarcasm>lovely</sarcasm> monotone gray </sarcasm>. I apologize because some of the sky got blown out in a few of the shots. :(

Lara, what lens are you using?

I'm considering ordering a 17-50mm f/2.8 Tamron lens for my Nikon D40x, i'm thinking it's supposed to be better for low lighting and wide angle. It should be a big improvement from my 18-55 f/3.5 - f/5.6 lens for sure! But then again, i'm kinda new to purchasing lenses.

The two I used yesterday are:

Canon EF 20mm f/2.8
Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6

I'm digging the 4th shot.

Were those seperate shots? Because I have a few that go together but I could never get them to look like one image with the different shades of the sky where the edges come together.
